Strange, I thought those kind of settings would only take place only after the BIOS finished its job. Are you certain it's F10? Usual candidates are also F8 and F12.
Anyways, one solution is to reset the bios. The motherboard manual will instruct on which jumper to set in order to do this.
he says that he tried rebooting and pressing f10 over and over, but the system isn't recognizing the key press.
Read the motherboard manual (or google for it), and find out what the reset BIOS jumper setting is.
I thought there is a possibility to disable USB keybord on the system that can work with other type of keboards (like ps/2)
If this is the case - mabe he should find a temporary ps/2 keyboard or adapter?
