Detiel book series
Does anyone use or know of the detiel programming books? I have the fifth edition of C++ and think it ranks in one of the top ones to own. Full of information, jammed with exercises to make you really put into practice what each chapter teaches you.
They are bricks of books too, but It is one of the best books I have bought.
Has anyone else used their range? i am interested to know other peoples views

I bought the Java 4th edition a few years ago. I think the explanations are too long-winded really. And the code examples are very long too.
In the end, the book that really helped me in Java was one written by a local author, but 1/4 the size of the Deitel book. But the quality and brevity taught me Java faster. Then it was off to Sun's Java tutorial to learn the rest.
Today I code J2EE applications for a living. :p
