1) What exactly is the .obj file? What does it contains?
2) I lost almost whole source code to a project but i recovered the .obj files so is it possible to convert one .obj to .cpp?
Thank you

1) The intermediate form of your program - before it get's linked with external libraries.
2) Do a board search for "reverse engineering", someone else asked something similar a while ago and some good replies were posted.
Object file is the result of compiling.
Linkers link object files into executables.
You can easily convert .obj files into executables, but into .cpp... reverse engineering is the only way, which ahluka already said.
I see, but could i use these .obj files like a DLL? Just making the .h files and adding the .obj to my project? If yes, how?
