Bcs
Anyone else have any opinions about the Bowl Championship Series? (BCS) I think it's a really bad idea. Sure, it's nice to have an undisputed champion (unless Nebraska wins tonight and tthe AP thinks Oregon should win, so it'd be a tie), but I think that the bowls that used to have predetermined competitors (such as the Rose Bowl being the Big 10/Pac 10 champs) should have stayed that way. Any ideas?

The BCS ranking system is a complicated way of saying: "We don't really know who's the second best team."

Well look at what is happening to Nebraska right now and that should prove that a human knows best (Oregon should have played Miami) and not a computer (Nebraska gets blown out by Miami). However, it is nice to have a clear cut champion, which is more likely to happen with the BCS than two polls. I think that there should be an exemption on who can go to the 'big game' with the BCS system; if you didn't win your conference you're automatically eliminated from going to the BCS title game but not all BCS games entirely. If that rule would have been in place the BCS games, most likely, would have looked like this.
Fiesta - Nebraska vs LSU
Orange - Illinois vs Colorado
Sugar - Maryland vs Florida
Rose - Oregon vs Miami
In my opinion, this BCS setup would have provided much better BCS games, because the way the games have turned out this year have been terrible.

I pretty much agree with the games you have, except I would have like to have seen Nebraska play Florida and Maryland play LSU instead.
-
One quibble: I would prefer to see LSU in the Sugar Bowl than in any other matchup.

I, too, would have liked to have seen Nebraska play Florida but because of the conference association I don't think it would have wound up to be that way. Anyway, all I have to say now is go ASU!
