Didn't it come with documentation?
nope. Ill look around but will someone please tell me? Also just so everyone knows a friend gave me the cd and so i also would like to know how to use a .iso file do i just peut it on cd? Because right now im downloading NextentaOS.
thanx
PS that was a quick reply
I bet a grand that it came with documentation :D. I have yet to see a version of linux that doesn't have documentation on it. Try using "man <commandname>" in a console/terminal (forget what Ubuntu calls it) window, omit the <> of course.
http://www.tldp.org/ is a good site for general linux information if I remember right.
K. Now what is a .iso and how do i use one?
It's just a CD-ROM image saved in ISO-9660 format. You can use any kind of CD Burning software or image reading software like Daemon Tools to recreate the physical media.
Okay Ive got it. Im gonna use ISO recorder and PowerArchiver. This should work...
Ubuntu unzips automatically IIRC (haven't used it in a month). The easiest way to install stuff is the package manager cause there is alot of dependancy stuff you have to deal with.
I have ubuntu on my laptop. I am using WinXP to write the ISO
Oh, I missed the second question. I would recomend alcohol 120%, but it looks too late now

If you are a windows user, I see no reason to use anything but the above power toy, makes the process a lot simpler. For more power toys just search the web, they have things like graphing calculators, ways to tweak the interface, all sorts of cool stuff.
Im using ISO recorder. Also what do all of you think of openSolaris?
