Programming Pocket PC Tutorials?

I have been programming for a while and have made a small adventure game with directX 8 using tiled backgrounds and such, and now I want to try my hand at Pocket PC programming. I like the fact that the programs have to be small and very efficient, kind of like programming in the old days (in a way I guess). I just got a pocket PC and am wondering how to go about programming for it? It has Windows Mobile 5 OS and this is the one I want to program for. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I have already downloaded Embedded C++ 4.0 with SP4, and the Standard SDK, but now I am lost. It doesn't seem any programs compile without coming up with errors. Thanks in advance, and I hope I didn't post in the wrong area.
