Hello, I found this free 3D Modeler.

Hear blender is a very good free 3D modeler. I've seen recomendations by others that this is the best free one out there..
Already got two commercial modelers but if I didn't I would surely try this one.
Still gonna check out the website outta curiousity :D
edit: Hmm I have 3D Max7 and Maya on my system... yet this tool looks quite entriguing.. I'm actually gonna try it out. Gallery got me :D
Anyone who has used this I wouldn't mind hearing comments/critics on the software.
Blender is a really cool tool. It has tons of features, exports to many other formats, has scripting capability and includes much much more.... The best part - it's free and frequently updated.
There are some difficulties though: for example it's not easy to use at all, so those who are just starting out with 3D are not really advised to use blender from the beginnning (though it may work if you got LOTS of patience and string will). For example, you will have to learn most of the numerous shortcuts to be able to use blender efficiently.
But besides that, it's really great. Give it a try....

I've used Blender now for quite a while. I'm getting better with it every day. I just love it to death.
Am I the only one that thinks the interface is kinda... funky...
Yeah, I didn't like it either when I started out. It was weird and stuff. But you get used to it after a while - and then, its not bad at all...Quote:

Well at first it looks kind of hectic, but you arrange it to almost any specification. It may look complicated, but its really not.
I can import the models I have into my openGL programs?
You can. There you have two possibilities:
1. You choose a file format you want to use (it can be for example md3 (quake 3 models), which include both the mesh, texture coords and several animations; or maybe you can just use the raw mesh format (you get a file with all triangles listed by their coords)). Then you have to write a decoder for the format you chose.
2. Or you can export your model directly to OpenGL with a special export plugin.

To find the export plugins that are installed in Blender, go to File->Export->...
