Copyright issue
Hey all,
I know this thing has been covered alot here but i still want to be sure.
Suppose i take pieces of text out of The lonely planet ( west africa - nigeria ) to be precise and i put that text online adding a copyright Lonely planet to the text.
Would it be oke ?? Or should i get in contact with them??
Or should i just alter the text small so they can not say i just copied it right out of the book?
Thanks in advance,
Ganglylamb.

There shouldn't be a problem if its published text. Just follow the basic quoting rules. You know put it in "" use [] to indicated changes you made in the quote and cite where the quote came from, the author of the quote, when it was published, etc

Alright thank you very much at least im somehow at comfort with it right now.

just like quoting a text in a research paper.

if you're still not sure, run a google on MLA and APA (those are the 2 most popular formats for research papers, and will have instructions on how to site sources).
