Just wondering, which version of the game will
you Final Fantasy fans be getting? I'll probably
go with the Playstation 2 version, I like gaming
on a console more than a PC.

Oh, here are some pictures:...

Yes, it's an Online RPG. Beta-testing beginsQuote:

If I get FF11 at all (which depends on whether or not it's going to be a run-of-the-mill massively multiplayer online RPG or actually something different), it would be for the PC. I don't think the console is well-suited to online gaming.
Also, FF5 was released in the U.S. in 1999, as part of Final Fantasy Anthology for the Playstation. It's hardly the best of the series, though...
Online gaming isn't really that bad on a console,Quote:

assuming enough people actually hook their console
up to the internet. Some games were difficult to
find people to play against a few months after
the game's release. But others, like Phantasy Star
Online and Phantasy Star Online: Version 2 are
packed with players.
PSO is, by far, one of my all-time favorite games.
If you haven't played it yet, go buy a Dreamcast
(the price was just lowered to $50) and a copy
of PSO: V2. There is a fee to play V2 online,
though. The price is about $15/3 months of unlimited
play.
An updated version of PS0: V2 will be coming to
PC/Xbox/Gamecube soon. I'll probably get the
GCN version. I just wish there was a way to
convert the Dreamcast-character to Gamecube.
My character has grown on me... :)
The biggest problem with online gaming at a console involves the keyboard. I don't want to have to buy an extra keyboard for a console; nor do I want to have to put my controller down and type up a message on the keyboard in my lap to communicate with someone else. I'm also worried about the nuisance of having to worry about things like internet service providers and internet hookups for a completely new machine.
