New Brainteasers!
Five families were competing on a television gameshow, and the objective was to match famous faces (numbered 1 through 5) with famous names. Each family made the following guesses (in order from 1 to 5):
The Addams family listed Otto, Roebling, Steinmetz, Tesla, and Westinghouse.
The Brady family listed Tesla, Westinghouse, Otto, Steinmetz, and Roebling.
The Cunningham family listed Roebling, Tesla, Steinmetz, Westinghouse, and Otto.
The Flintstone family listed Tesla, Roebling, Otto, Steinmetz, and Westinghouse.
The Jetson family listed Tesla, Westinghouse, Steinmetz, Otto, and Roebling.
No two families got the same number of correct matches. Which family went home with the first prize?
Note: To those of you looking for a loophole, no three families, no four families, and no five families got the same number either.

i'm saying the jetsons...
-
Any reasoning behind that?
-
yes...though it's difficult to explain without drawing a diagram...
-
-
This isn't a homework assignment is it? ;)
Why can't you just say i got it right?
i'll post the reasoning, in a bit. i'm on the phone...

Yeah, I'd love to see a class where brainteasers are homework :)
Even if the Jetsons is right, I'm still gonna call you wrong because there's no reason you couldn't have just guessed that.

Take discrete math or any kind of logic class. Also you can do a search for
Knights and Knaves problems.
-
It can't be the Jetsons, because if they've got all the correct answers then three of the families have the same score (i think).
-
I did take Discrete - it was mostly logic problems like truth tables and Karnuagh maps and the like.
Zen's gettin' the idea!
-
um...you're right it's not the jetsons (I think), and i did just guess :)
the answers T. R. O. S. W. satisfy the riddle. If they are the answers, the flintstones get five right, and no one has a duplicate score.
Is that it Govtcheez?

We have a winner! Good job Mix0Matt!
