what race is god?

For a joke/story in english, heres what I decided to do. I haven't decided on the ending yet though.

I'm cutting it down when I write it here, but in sum:

A white guy and black guy are arguing about whether god is black or white. They go to mount sinai and yell "god are you black or white!". The white guy shouts "send me a sign if you're white!" Then all of the sudden there is this tremendous thunder. THe white guy is like, "hey he must be white!" THe black guy argues (in a stereotypical black ghetto voice) that the thunder was gods booming bass and that he must be black. Then they fall of mount sinai and go to heaven. THey decided they will finally find out when they see god.

Here are the possibilities for the endings. All of them consist of me pretending to be god as he comes out and his race is revealed.

Ending 1: THey keep arguing, in front of the pearly gates. Then they both hear something off in the distance...they're like "what is that?!" It gets louder and louder they say. Then I have my english teacher inthe back of the room play some mexican music i have prepared (ie the gates open) and out comes god and i say (being god) "HOLA MUCHACHOS!"

Ending 2: Same as above, except I play some rap music, pretending to be the stereotypical black rapper. I'm as white as they come, so this will be comical as I'm trying to rap. THen the punch line is that they both decided god must be white, as they will be expecting me to say god is black.

Ending 3: Same as above, except I play michael jackson music. Dance for a few seconds, then end it saying something to the effect of 'they couldn't decide who was right'

Ending 4: Same as ending 2, but use vanilla ice music. This might not be as effective, because the punch line isn't as good since vanilla ice really IS white. With ending 1, its funny because it seems like I'm actually trying to be black but fail.

Ending 5: Same as ending 1, except while they are waiting for god to come out, each of the daydreams for a second. I say the black guy starts daydreaming and then play some rap music, try to rap with it. THen the white guy daydreams, play some vanilla ice, dance for a few seconds. Then god comes out and says the 'hola muchachos!' with mexican music.

Which of the endings do you guys think would be the funniest. For some background info, I'm as white as people come, that's why this is going to be comical.

So which ending is the best? Can you think of any better endings?

There are so many things this has potential to start.

From what I've heard of this joke I only have one thing to say: It sucks and is not funny.

Mocking God, no matter what belief you are, is not a good idea, either ethically, morally, or politically.

And if you are Christian, Jewish, Catholic or even Muslim:
3rd Commandment as it apears in Exodus 20: "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain."

what grade are you in lee? and what was the original assignment? I'm not exactly against "mocking god", but this doesn't seem very funny...

He's not actually mocking god but men. It's quite obvious that their whole discussion about his(?) race is meaningless.

Even if it were mockery, I'm pretty sure god would stand above it. Pun intended. :D

That doesn't mean I think it's a funny story. My English often doesn't qualify me to judge jokes ;)

Thats up to interpretation. From my point of view the way he is mocking men in turn means to mock religion and god. I personally dont believe in god, i am an atheist, however the "joke" if you will is inappropriate for these forums.

So just because "god" stands above it that would make it acceptable? Luckily we are not his english class and we dont have to exercise the allowance of free speech, because in this case many are going to see this thread as an insult or attack and it will inevitably turn to flame. Thats why i said it should be closed.

I don't think he's really mocking god, I think he's just being a dumbass

As I said, he's not playing tricks on "god". The point about him standing above it was an additional argument.
I for one honestly don't believe that if there is a god, he would care about a joke when in the same world, people kill each other in his name, against his will, lead only by their own interests and those of their religious leaders. I fail to see why people can get touchy about a joke in such times. Rather he'd applaud people who don't fail to see the colors between black and white...

An assault, in my humble opinion, is something else. That said, I'm not defending this individual poster but rather try to see this from an unbiased point. I know, just because I haven't been offended doesn't mean it might not offend other persons, but then, where would you draw the line ? For every little meaningless thing in this world you will find at least one who is offended by it. And this thing is so meaningless, it can hardly get any better.


Anyways, there are probably better things to argue about.....

the only way you could make this joke funny is by making it racist (which most of those endings acomplish). All you're doing is throwing a bunch of stereotypes in there. If you were trying to make some kind of point, it's lost.
