I was wondering if this might happen. 98 isn't a horrible OS... and I still know a lot of people that use it. Granted, 2k and XP are much better, but that costs more.
People still use 98? The only systems I've seen it on lately are the legacy systems at work that we need to keep going because it's oh-so-difficult to move the damn software. That's not saying much, though - there are computers there running 3.1, and a couple TRS-80s are used pretty regularly.
Howdy,
30% of the boxes where I work run 98, The IT guy puts it like this "Its reasonably stable, easy to bail out and the older users are familiar with it..."

I know people still using Windows 95. :(Quote:

And we still have test-cell computers running DOS at my company. Granted, it gets the job done, but it makes it hard to support.
At my mom's work they still have a bunch of 95 machines.
The machine I am typing on right now runs under 95.
I stand corrected.
all the systems at my old school were 98 machines
I think Windows 98 is easily the most scalable desktop version of Windows, once you've cut most of IE out of it. I'm gonna see if it can be squeezed into a 100MB partition... :cool:
I've had Windows 95. I've had Windows 98. Now I have Windows ME. None of them were that bad. XP is one of my favorites(my friend has it). Oh yeah: I've still got a Tandy VGM - 450. God, it still has like Windows 3.5 ...

The sole reason for my nostalgia PC(Win98). Not Day of the Tentacle, but games of that era. DOS games, and games during the Win95-98 era that crash like it's going out of style on my XP machine...Quote:

Win 3.1 >= WinXP > Win2k > Win 98 > Win ME > Win 95 > Win 1.0
