So, I was looking at these pictures and the story doesn't fit together in many ways. I think that it is a hoax.

Nope, it was real. There was a huge uproar here in the States.
Yeah, I don't think an ABC station would produce a hoax:

Okay. There is something else that I want to inquire about.
Why the hell would a 15 year old boy think that they were terrorists and then require counseling over the incident? Like, if he cries about police officers searching a school then I bet this wont be the last time he'll need counselling. If a car honks at him he'd probably say "Oh my, I have nightmares about it!".
But yea, it made me laugh. <-- More terrorist paranoia
Anyway, I do believe that the cops did not have the right to do such a thing. There is no reason for them to have their guns drawn or to have the students lay down. A much more logical approach would be to have guards at each exit to catch anyone who runs, then to simply get dogs to sniff the bags. Easy, simple, and no-one has to panic.
You're an idiot.Quote:

It's definitely real. I heard about it on Comedy Central's fair and balanced daily newscast The Daily Show with John Stewart (Mon.-Thu. 11:00 P.M. eastern--watch it if you can!). I have no problem with the police making a huge, intimidating show of force at a rural middle school to find alleged illegal narcotics while possibly traumatizing the students there. If anything, it will teach students a good lesson about the abuse of power--if they haven't already learned it by hearing about the Bush administration's policies.
My guess is that a lot more of those children will now be politically liberal by the time they reach voting age.
That's my heartfelt dream. I can only hope.Quote:

So you don't care that they abuse their power, but you think that abuse of power is wrong? Something wrong with your reasoning there...I would say something about that last part, but I don't want to start a political debate ;)Quote:

Another mother, whose son was involved in the sweep, said she is speeding up their move to California. Tina Penn’s 15-year-old son, Cedric Penn Jr., was in the hallway when police ran inside and ordered everyone down.
“I froze up. I didn’t know what to do. I fell on the ground. Everybody thought it was a terrorist attack,” he said.
On his knees and facing the wall, the teen said a gun was pointed at his head. “I think it was racially motivated,” he said.

Her son is in counseling because of the incident, she said, and the family is planning to move to California at the end of the month, rather than waiting until the end of the school year as originally planned. Tina Penn said her husband, who is working in California, was appalled when he heard the news and urged her and the children to “move now.”
Someone is over looking the ton of sarcasm that went along with his quote :)Quote:

You're still an idiot. Take a psychology class or something, then come back and we'll talk.Quote:
