C programming books

I was wondering if you all could tell me what the best book is for learning the C language is. I've checked out a couple and don't know which one to get.

I just started a C programming course at school and my buddy told me that the book the instructor told us to get isn't that good at explaining the concepts. He's been programming for a whle and knows his stuff. The book the instructor told us to get is 'C How to Program' by Deitel.

The course covers the basics of programming (if/else, do/while etc) as well as functions, arrays, pointers, and classes. I need a book thats easy to understand and explains the concepts well.

If anyone knows of some good books could you let me know.

Barnes and Noble, Borders, etc... all have good books that might be usefull, one I get a lot of use out of it the O'Reilly C Pocket reference.
