In my math class I spend about half the time programming the equations into my calculator and formatting them to display anything and everything I can think of.

You need to duct tape your fingers together; sell the calculator; sell the computer; and lock yourself into a small dark room, before you duct tape your fingers preferably.
:p
I was a lot like that. As a matter of fact, I started programming on a TI-82. I would use my calculator to solve all sorts of things for me in pre-calc. I had it finding imaginary roots and graphing them, calculating compounding interest, and doing some other stuff I can't remember. Oh, and I made a few games, too. You could be a lot worse off; you could be stupid, so I wouldn't worry.
lol that sounds exactly like what I do Thantos....Trust me you're really addicted :P
Cool, just making sure my assessment was true. Now to save up for the computer link and then for the TI-89 <drool>
Here, give me your computer and calculator. These'll be returned to you when you're healed.
back off janitor boy!
Get the TI89 first. It's better than a graphlink.
The TI89 is king. I got the graphlink usb cable for free. They had $15 rebates on them and Walmart was selling them for $14.xx. Anyways, it was essentially free after the mail in rebate. I don't know if they still do that rebate, though.
haha... I spent my entire precalc class just writing programs/functions/classes to do what we were learning that day... sadly, they were in pencil on sheets of paper...
That's all I do in math class is mess around on my calculator. I'm far more advanced in math than the rest of the class, I don't even have to pay attention. I almost got my Dungeon Master program for D&D complete. It keeps track of all players' stats and monsters' stats, has a roller built in, has a library of die rolls for certain things, etc.
All I do is mess with my calculator because the teacher spends 95% of the class explaining stuff that doesn't need to be explained like doing examples problems...and all we are doing is just as simple as stuff i did in math two years ago!
I sooooooooooooo wish I could take a laptop into class and spend all my time programming. That, and also a wireless internet card so I could check cprog at school.
Damn, if I have a laptop in uni I'm so gonna fail! Sif I'm gonna listen to the lecturers when there's a computer in front of me!
I don't know about your high school, but when I was in high school (just last year...in college now), about 95% of our teachers let us bring lap tops into class.
In fact, they almost encouraged it. The reason they loved it so much was because some people would type notes on their lap tops and then post them on the web for others to look at and get extra credit for posting the teacher's notes on the web.
Of course, you could also do some programming on the side while typing those notes. ;)
yep, I would too probably. Either that, or I woudn't use it, which would defeat the purpose of bringing it. So, I don't bring my laptop to class.Quote:

Speaking of wireless, I'm going to continue my search for a mini pci wireless card.
