Oh I see now. I wasn't too terrably interested in people dissing Bush. I'd love to see you do a better job. Run for president all of you and make his world a better place.
Hay can anyone google for "sense of humor for an overly touchy bastard"?
Well every other thread in here is Bush is bad. He sucks. I think he knows more about whats going on than you. Hes smarter than you. He knows more about politics than you. Searching for a bomb in a country isnt too easy. Its like searching for a specific phone booth in New York with no help. It takes time. Why don't you guys just be quiet support our country and stop complaining because hes human. He knows what hes doing so he makes mistakes. Some of you seem like the same people who voted for Clinton. Look how amazing that turned out. Someone a while ago made the comment on how I watch FOX only. Well you guys must watch CNN only.
**Oh and heres the results for the search you wanted ;) :D

ZakkWylde969, nice try, but dont bother with techy people.
seriously man, it just turns into bashing know matter what anyone says. a actual debate around here(or alot of tech places) is just impossible.
not with all of the people, but with most of them. plus you picked the worst place to but this.
and if you want proof, watch what kind of replies im going to get!!
Good point. I've already gotten in trouble for my discussions so I'm going to end it with that.

lol. sorry, but i cant help but think of all the times i said that...
Uh, how exactly did you work that out?Quote:

I really REALLY hate this mentality, I support US foreign policy because its my country, I support Austrian foreign policy because its my country, i support French foreign policy because its my country..... how about not? How about engaging the old brain and judging a particular policy/decision/regime on its merits irrespective of which nation is behind it? How about atleast attempting to form unbiased opinions? How about that?Quote:

No no, shut up and support my/our/your/the/*insert relevent word here* country. You people live here and you should have this opinion, and you people live there, and you should have that opinion..... excellent. Welcome to the 21st century.
>>Uh, how exactly did you work that out?
I'm going to answer this and then I'm not bothering to answer any more questions. We can look up his school records real fast why don't we?
He went to college at Yale University getting his bachelors degree. Later he went to Harvard Business School getting his masters.
In 1994 he was elected governor for Texas. He was then re-elected governor become the ONLY governor in Texas to be re-elected in consecutive times.
Then he was elected President. Since people like pointing out bad things here are a few good things he signed a law making schools standards better. Then he also signed a tax cut. Relieving YOU of some taxs. He also removed a dictator of power. This dictator happened to be a murderer and tyrant. He killed his own people. We have strong intelligence he had nuclear missle capability. He also was thought to have been making Bio-chem weapons. We have found suits and possible labs during our Iraq search so far. He didn't follow the Geneva Convention. He also invaded another country which was a leading factor in the Gulf War launched by President Clinton.
With that information I will end this discussion. Don't even bother asking me more questions because I am through with this.
Aww come on Clyde... can't you kick your mind into neutral just once (okay... perhaps reverse)? ;)
Zakk... for one, I know plenty of PhDs who are rather dense outside of a narrow field. Other than that, no one here said Bush has never done anything good. Just have a sense of humor about it. It a good joke.
In my book being a C-student is not an indication of great intellect, neither is having good PR and family connections. - But hey, i'm weird like that.
I don't think Bush is the great satan that many people seem to think he is, but he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the box either. In fact as far i can see he's one of the blunter tools; maybe a hammer, no no, one end of that could be quite sharp, so a spanner, yea that's it, George Bush is a spanner.
Sorry Zach, I'll try my best.Quote:

That doesn't mean he's smart, just rich.

Have you even been keeping up with the news?
>He also was thought to have been making Bio-chem weapons.
Key word: "Thought."
>Gulf War launched by President Clinton.
Are you serious?... You don't actually think that, do you? Clinton
didn't even become president until '92.
When you go to the 2 hardest schools in the US you have to be more than rich.
Yea, you have to be rich and the son of a president.
And smart. You really are ignorant when it comes to admitting Bush isn't dumb aren't ya? ;)
Indeed... But being smart does not make one right. Historically, plenty of attrocities have been committed by smart people (the dumb ones usually aren't smart enough to pull it off).Quote:

Quite true. However, there are several ruthless tyrants which we are still friends with, and have made no attempt to stop their attrocities.Quote:

Drat... mind coming out of neutral... must stop!
No you don't. Jonathan Taylor Thomas goes to Harvard.Quote:

And besides, his opinions don't really matter until he can vote. That's right. They don't matter.
 I have nothing..
Sorry, but it's the honest truth.
You know as a teen my opinion doesn't matter to most people. I personally think its sort of an insult to say I'm too young to knaw crap about anything. But whatever if you don't think I'm good enough to be listened to then don't.
I'm not saying you don't know anything, although you seem too stubborn to learn much of use.
What I'm saying is that, like most of the people on this board, your opinion simply doesn't matter. The only way to truly express your opinion about politics in this country is by voting for the candidate or idea you believe can serve you and the rest of the country in elections. Until you're 18, it won't matter at all. The sad part is, tons of people over the age of 18 complain about the government then refuse to use their votes to do something about it (I'm looking at you, ethic).
Zakk, you keep reaching for whatever the hell it is you're reaching for, maybe you'll get it. No one else cares, though.
And before you get to the end of the rainbow, grow a sense of humor and quit being so defensive about someone who couldn't give a crap about you.
edit: I've got hope that someday Zakk will develop some kind of individual personality, but I'm afraid martman's doomed to be a total incomprehensible idiot for the rest of his life.
Thats not his point. His point is, you can't really act on your opinions until you are old enough to vote.
>> You know as a teen my opinion doesn't matter to most people.
Its primarily in the way you come off to people.
I'm really a friendly person. But coming from GA where EVERYONE proudly flys a flag on our mailboxes. I take that stuff seriously.
>>Zakk, you keep reaching for whatever the hell it is you're reaching for, maybe you'll get it. No one else cares, though.
I want to take over the world.
well, you stated that Clinton launched the Gulf War. i think thats enough to judge your knowledge by...Quote:

What was was Clinton in then? I thought he was the president that bombed Iraq for a while. It wasn't too many years ago because I watched it on tv.
There were a few... Chances are the one you remember is Kosovo.
Lets see, your opinion is worthless to me because:
1) You're factually incorrect most of the time.
2) You're narrow-minded. Completely set in your ways when it comes to, well, everything.
Try sitting back and listening once in awhile, you might learn something.
If i remember correctly, Clinton was the one who bombed an advil factory...
I don't know about him bombing iraq, though...
Well the fact is this. You don't listen to what I have to say. I've heard what you have to say a million times. Say something new and I'll listen. Repeat yourself and I won't. :)Quote:

Fine, don't listen. Continue down your narrow path towards absolute ignorance, carrying that enormous superiority complex with you.Quote:

EVERYTHING. That you say. Has been said at least 20 times to me already. Now if you want me to agree with you. Find something I haven't heard and tell me that. I listen. But whether or not I pay it any mind is a different story.
I find myself very open towards ideas. Just not old ones.
You guys do realize how amusing this conversation is, don't you.
In summary:
-You don't listen.
-See, you don't listen.
-Fine, don't listen.
-I knew you wouldn't listen.
Let's get something straight here, hipster. First, voting is doneQuote:

anonymously, so you're not really expressing anything because
nobody will ever know what it is you think. Supid messages on an
internet message board are a better way to express your opinion;
that way, at least someone will know how you feel.
Second, my one single vote won't change anything. It's pointless
for me to vote. No matter what, my one single vote will have
absolutely no impact. Even if all of the sudden everybody who
didn't vote actually voted, my one vote still wouldn't make a
difference. In a country of 300,000,000 people, there's no way
that one single person can make a difference by putting an 'x'
next to a name. That's ridiculous.
Nobody should think they're actually accomplishing anything by
voting. Did your candidate win? No. If he did win, he would have
won whether you voted for him or not.
*shrug* it was worth a try, I guess.Quote:

Voting isn't the only way to express an opinion, but it is one. Granted a single vote won't make much of a difference, large masses who have that attitude could make a difference, but fail to. I must say though, a single vote would be more meaningful if our electoral system was revamped.
Whacks everyone with a big stick
Best idea I've heard yet! Oh wait... I'm part of everyone, aren't I?Quote:

for real, it doesnt work out. they will still hate everything american and heil clinton every chance they get. along with never proving anything or answering anything, unless it suits them.
Let's say he is President now. How he got there is not exactly clear.Quote:

Last time I checked, Clinton was a US citizen and ex president. So how can anybody do both at the same time ? Go get a book on logic. Third grade math or something.Quote:

Yeah, he could build on Lincolns experiences from Vietnam... geez, I thought Americans only learn US history, but probably not even that :eek:Quote:

no, we lean everything but our history. and of course altered history. pinko diversity.Quote:

Quoted for emphasis, but I think it applies to martman. Zakk at least tries to debate. Well, sometimes, anyways.Quote:

It only would have taken a little over 500 people to change their votes, and we wouldn't be having this stupid fight.

You know, I can't recall you addressing any point I've ever made in any of these threads. As soon as I bring up something you don't like, you put your hands over your ears, sing "LALALALALALA" and spout propaganda about how Clinton was actually Satan. Real great tactic.
It's what everyone does when they're closed-minded and realize that they're wrong.Quote:

Bleh, we have a family friend who lives in Atlanta and they have a son my age. I went up there once, and I was in his room talking to him. Great kid - really nice, smart, and reeeaallly cute. Anyway, I look up, and plastered across his ceiling is a humongous confederate flag. I think my mouth hung open for 5 minutes before he asked what was wrong, and all I could blurt out was "Do you even have any black friends?!". Apparently he just had one because all of his friends did
In case you're wondering, that story had no point whatsoever. Maybe martman will regale us with stupidity by telling us how those silly black people had it coming, because they were obviously inferior, and the Europeans really disliked them.
PS: Ethic - You may be correct, but if everyone with that state of mind would just vote then they COULD make a difference.
Ken for the record, the south doesn't have the same feelings about the confederate flag that the north does. The civil war was not about slavery or race contrary to popular belief. It was about a state's right to secede from the union. That having been said, I bring you good tidings.
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~blagger/the_duel.html
honestly people, lighten up. Politics are a bigger waste of air than polution.
edit:
I see you're from florida. strange that you did not know this already.
Hey fyb, what's up?
Let's totally derail this thread, since I think I wore out the close thread button in the last few days.
I'm up for a good derailment. have you seen Terminator 3?
Although I am not sure this movie should have ever been made (T2 was clearly the ending) I really enjoyed it. I love where it left us off and got us ready for T4 and the TX is HOT gratuitous hotness is welcome in a terminator movie. 2 thumbs up your ass!
No, I haven't seen that yet. I hadn't seen any of the other ones, so I keep meaning to rent those first. I saw League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last Friday. It was alright, if you ignore the giant plot holes and the fact that they made Captain Nemo into some sort of Bruce Lee-ripoff.
For gratuitous hotness, it offers Peta Wilson. I give it a 4/10, but I think I'm going to see it again this Friday, since I've been signed up for a double date by my girlfriend. Oh well, I'll live. At least I'll probably get some extra lovin' for it. Oh yeah :)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen looked good. I was upset to see all the bad reviews. Sean Connery usually makes everything he touches into gold. oh well. On the other hand, there's been a lot of good things said about Pirates of the Carribbean (sp?). This was a huge surprise to me. I expected it to be horrible after that Country Bears thing. Disney pulled it off apparently. I'll have to be seeing it soon. Has anyone seen it already?
I'm going to go see 28 Days Later tomorrow. Gotta see it before
it gets dropped from theaters...
I don't care! I can talk about movies, too! Don't be so selfish about
your converstation topics!!!!
by the way, you really should sit down to the first two terminator movies first. T2 is the best of the three. T1 suffers from 2 things... poor special effects and 80's sounding synth music. Other than that it was aweseome. T2 has some degree of unbelievability in the T1000 being "liquid metal" but you can throw that complaint out the window because the plot is intense as is the action of course. T3 now, isn't as deep but it gets us more terminator which is fine with me.
I think Sean Connery jsut amplifies whatever he's in. If it's good, it's really good, but if it sucks... well...
Pirates looks really cool (it's got a zombie monkey - how can it be bad?), I'm hoping maybe my gf will cave in the we'll see that instead, but I guess I'd suffer through LXG to see the special effects again (those are excellent, even if the rest of the movie's crap).
ethic I expect a full review. If you like it maybe they'll get my money.
Oooo - that looked really cool, too, ethic. You gotta let us know how it is.
I have to be careful here, I don't want to make my 1000th post in this idiotic thread.
Cheez, have you seen Hulk? a lot of people hated that one too.
Actually, I should carefully pick my 1000th post thread. There should be something over in the C++ forum that's interesting. Something about void main? ooohh... my 1000th post could be a thread start. something to annoy Salem. anyone?
why is void main() bad?
LOL
ROFL
IMO/IMHO
LMFAO
.......
or in the internet speak thread
Eesh, yeah. That was a big steaming pile of crap. It was like 2 and a half hours long and sucked in all of the parts where Jennifer Connelly wasn't busy being hot or the Hulk was smashing things. I actually left 3 times to take phone calls.
That reminds me, ober was one of the people that called me. He's engaged, now. I think that's great - he's a good guy and his fiancee seems really nice the couple times I've met her. Problem is, I'm supposed to go to the wedding next summer, but I haven't a thing to wear. Any suggestions?
>>I haven't a thing to wear. Any suggestions?
What, you've lost your gimp suit?
I don't know, it depends on the wedding. Some people have really toned down weddings where it's no big deal to just dress casual. You could always ask what the attire is supposed to be. On the other hand, once you buy a nice suit, although a big investment it can be used for lots of things. Very useful for impressing the ladies when you take them to fancy places. Of course once you're married what's the point. poor me. Ober don't do it!
> What, you've lost your gimp suit?
One of the straps on the ball gag broke :(
oh crap, another mod - i'm in for it now!
Thanks for the info, fyb. I'll be sure to ask him next time I see him online (since the bastard decided to like "graduate" and stuff and leave school. Jerk.).
28 days was great. I saw it a week or so ago. My friends all thought it was "just decent" but I thought it was one of the better movies I'd seen recently.
Good to hear.
Hey, what's everyone having for lunch today? I've got some leftover Mancino's (pizza grinder with pepperoni and sausage). I'll be eating in about an hour if anyone wants to join me. We could have like the cprog WAL (wide area lunch)
leftover chicken and rice
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
and peas, yum
Ham and egg sandwiches, that I had to make myself :( And I've got nothing special for dinner later either.
Still tomorrow I'm going out for a curry, so that'll be cool... or rather hot, as I eat da vindaloo. :p
you let egg sit around for a couple hours? what do you do, nuke it? sounds like it wouldn't work so well.
Hmmm...maybe I'll get some Quiznos.
Nah, its in a cool bag. hey, I keep getting gut ache, I wonder if there's a connection there somewhere..?
I've never had curry before - what's it like?
I've also got a Frosted Strawberry Pop Tart that will function as dessert.
Hey, guys - I'm going to run downstairs to get a Mountain Dew. Be back in a couple minutes.
Alright, I'm back. Did I miss anything?
is it lunch time for you already? it's only 10:43 here. EST. I'm going to have to hold off I'm afraid. But coffee break might be a good plan!
