Scroll mouse not working on Slackware 9.0

I've just installed Slackware 9.0 (kernel-2.4.20 and KDE3.1).
My mouse is a 2-button mouse with wheel, connected via PS1 port.

Symptom: movement fine, left click, right click and 3 button emulation (middle click) work fine but only wheel does not work.

I've tried # gpm (all types of mouses) but that doesn't help.

Anybody have clues, please tell me.

If that doesnt work try different protocols like "ExplorerPS/2" or "PS/2" or "IMPS/2".
