Dual Boot
I have 2 hard drives. One has MS DOS 6.22, the other has Windows XP. I want my computer to turn on and allow me to choose the os to boot on either of the 2 hard drives. Each hard drive has 1 partition, each hard drive only has 1 OS.
How do I do this?

i have win98 on one drive and xp on another:
I made my main drive a windows 98 drive and slaved in my 20gig'r. I loaded win98 and started xp install and made sure it went to the slave, now i can boot to which ever i want. Check this guide out:

You need some sort of bootloader. Or, you could keep one drive "invisible" and only have it boot when a boot disk is installed.
-
Ok, so in order for me to do what I want above, with BOTH of my operating systems being installed already when they were BOTH in separate computers(I do not want to reinstall), I need a boot loader?
- edit -
I don't want any boot disks or anything silly like that.
-
Yep, you need a bootloader. I think XP might even have one built into it.

Ok, thanks, I'll look into it.

While your information helped, I have decided to just upgrade my dos box. I'm going to try to put a video card(currently running a Trident) in it that supports tv out in true DOS mode and Windows 95 - this should be cheap. Then, I'm going to upgrade the sound card to something that's cheap and higher quality than the current advance logic. Also, a first class pentium 233mhz MMX($20 or something, online). Then, finally bump the 32mb EDO ram up to 128, or whatever the A-Open board I'm using's max capacity is. Then, I'll replace the CD-ROM as it doesn't work! (Something cheap, just for DOS/Win95 retrogaming, etc.) After all is said and done, I'll throw my copy of Windows 95 onto it.
There, a DOS ERA computer. First generation 3d action games such as Tomb Raider 1(Which is an absolute $$$$$ on Windows XP), and classics such as Raptor: Call Of The Shadows will run fine.
I have -
MS DOS 6.22
Windows 95
Windows 98 SE
Windows XP Home
Windows XP Professional
If you want to recommend a different OS configuration for the DOS computer only, or recommend some hardware for the intentions I listed above, please do so.
