What do you guys like to listen to (if anything) whilst programming?
Me personally, I like chillout stuff: some massive attack, groove armada, moby, air, zero down. Other than that maybe a little indie or emo.
Forgive me if this has been done before (i did a quick search first to check so dont shoot me :))

I've been listening to that a lot lately, as well as the Dust Brothers.
I find faithless good programming music.
depends on my mood, mostly (older) good metal..classical too...but mainly ill just queue up a concert in winamp and let it play in the background..
I'll listen to a little bit of everything and anything really.

I like anything that makes good ambient music. Something that can be tuned out. Metal/Rock/sucky rap(all rap sucks) anything that Is too loud or driving disturbs my train of thought. So classical, jazz, russian opera (red army chorus = l337) even some pop is good. Some times I'll just listen to one song over and over. I listened to "Bubble toes" 146 times consecutively one day when I was coding a directX game. I programmed all day. And I now KNOW the lyrics to the song quite well.

it actually gets you very focused because of the "trancelike" state it puts you in....

i don;t listen to much while programming because i don't get the time to program much these days....but whenever i do, i usually listen to rap or some classical.....
from rap, i listen to songs that i already know so i wouldn;t be distracted by it as i usually would try to learn the lyrics......eminem's superman is a good song, though the radio version sucks. the song was ment to have swearing....
from classical, anything that is flowing.....
IMO techno is the worst thing u can listen to while programming because head starts to hurt after a while....
i don't listen to rock.......

I-dunno, I don't hate the music, but, I don't like it either. It's about as neutral as Micheal Jackson to me. It's ok, but it's not great.
Depending on my mood, I switch between techno/trance and heavy metal.
how bout... none, if i do i guarantee is stuff you monkeys probably never heard of, even if you did its probably through sombody i know.
emo and punk almost always. every once great in a while i'll listen to some other stuff (like nirvana, smashing pumpkins, metallica). i'm always listening to music so when i program my music doesn't change either.
Classical, soft rock, slooow stuff.
FF7 and Xenogears soundtracks, I love 'em. Especially "One Winged Angel", "The One Who is Torn Apart", and "Small Two of Pieces".
Mainly the Beatles, maybe the Matrix and Lord of the Rings soundtracks. I've forgotten how much I love music from FF7. Maybe I'll buy one of the CDs.
I stream radio over the web whilst I code. That way it saves me having to choose the music and it also keeps me up-to-date with current affairs (I don't have a TV).

I am in my final year of university. When I first came to uni I found I really needed a computer for my studies so I had to get one. Now, I didn't have much money and couldn't then really afford a TV so I went without. Now 4 years on, though I can afford a TV and TV license due to my uni work placements I actually find I don't miss it in the slightest so I don't bother. TV is generally full of rubbish anyhow.

I watch TV on my 36" Sony Wega flat-screen. PERFECT for my 9x11 foot bedroom. :D But since I output my computer to my tv VIA 4-way audio video selector & my Behringer mixer, I suppose I could get a tv card for my PC.
I prefer live365.com for streaming music as they have TONS of radio stations, even ones playing obscure stuff like ORIGINAL NES music(one of the stages for mega man 3, straight out of the game, to be precise)
