Doesn't that sound just like that Beatles Boycott? You know,
when Lennon said The Beatles were bigger than Jesus... ?
The Dixie Chicks really screwed themselves over. They should
have known that the typical Country Music fan is going to
support Bush. Not only support Bush, but support War in general.
They probably think of war as a fancy version of deer hunting.
When I think of someone that listens to country-music exclusively,
I don't think of a liberal-hippie that protests at their state's
capitol every thursday afternoon. No, I think of a greasy, scruffy-
faced, middle-aged man that spends the hours of 6-11pm in a
smokey, honky-tonk bar drinking beer while "Achy Breaky Heart"
plays from an old Jukebox in the background. All the while at
home, the chicken-fried steak that his wife/sister made him for
dinner sits on a TV Tray, getting colder and colder as each minute
passes.
The Dixie Chicks should have really thought before making that
statement. Their music career is over. They're going to have to
go Alternative, Punk, or even Pop if they want to continue to be
successful in the music industry.
Personal note: I think the Beatles sucked.
