I do it both for a living and as a hobby, so I can't choose on your poll :(
just as a hobby :)
I just like to tinker, I have much more to learn before I could try to make a living with my computer knowledge.
Well you can say that I am starting as a hobby, I do hope however that I end up doing it as a job. So none of them (poll options) REALLY apply for me right now. Well I am currently enrolled in college to get a degree as a something about (Engineer in Computer Systems) :) So that's a start I guess.
I'm a hobbyist; I haven't made much cash on programming.
I'm a hobbiest, plan on going to college to become a cs major, becoming a professional. Though, hobbiest is the current answer.
I was responsible for other things, 3 Years ago I started to program for company as voluntary service.
I'm doing for my company as my responsibility.

I guess I could classify as a hobbyist. But I'm in a class right now, planning to go to college and be a comp eng major. So, more of a student at the current time, until after college and working.

The same with me.
as a hobby now, then hoping to do a dual degree in computer science and computer engineering..
Right now I am doing it as a student, but do it when I have time to.
As I stated in the 1st version, I think that a majority of the people who do it as a living would do it as a hobby as well.
Been making my living from software development since 1978.
Professional... but I tinker on my own too.
