I'll just say that I prefer dogs because they have a brain. But then to clarify that, I must say that I hate those little too-much-hair dogs that do nothing but yap, and those dogs that have been trained so much that you can swear they're actually large mutated cats (I know a dog like that... he's staying with us for the weekend...). I'm more of a golden-retriever or German Shepherd person, but I can't stand cats.
Dogs are better than cats. Need I say more?
Dogs are certainly better than cats.
Sgt. Dekker(see avatar) is fairly well trained I can send him to the neighbors house to deliver or receive dvd's, the paper or just about anything else.
My previous dog Buddy, knew over 70 seperate commands and over 20 hand signals(which came in quite handy when he went deaf).
The 'F' word in our house is frisbee because if you say it you'll have to play with Sgt. Dekker for at least an hour with it or he will drive you nuts jumping around!
Dogs of course. When you call a dog to come to you, it comes regardless of wether it wants to. When you call a cat, it comes only if its something thats to it's benefit, like food, or rubbing itself on your leg etc. I hate cats, they are some of the lowest forms of life in existence.
Cat's are way better than dogs. What are you people thinking!? My cat loves me and cuddles with me and rubs against my leg. They don't have to be trained to go in a littler box. And they're not dumb! The average intelligence of a cat is estimated to be higher than the average dog. Cat's just choose to be mellow.
Dogs are smelly, dumb oafs that bark and annoy you at the worst times. You have to walk them and teach most of them to SH1T where they're supposed to.
In conclussion, cats rule, dogs can suck it! Suck it, dogs! Suck it good!
I prefere Cogs, a cat and a dog crossed its quite a sight.
Both drop hairs all over the place. Dogs smell.
I cann't tell, they are both good! I like them both!

Ummmm you sure?
Cats crap where they want(your garden), then bury it-sort of.
My dog (Ridgeback) does NOT smell.
Cats mellow-wrong..they are lazy.
Dogs dumb? I know my breed is higher intelligence than some, but boy is he smart. All the commands, both voice and hand and he even shows intelligence.
Barking? Yes when he hears some scum kicking about outside, NO when he is relaxing or playing.
Guard cat? ever heard of this? hmmmmm
There are loads more reasons dog is mans best friend, but my favourite is dog EATS cat! Who is best now huh?
so we are in agreement with a cog? :)
Dats are way better, but whatever floats your boat, dude.Quote:

so dats and cogs ?
I'd say it depends on if I'm having red wine or white wine with the meal. With red wine I prefer dogs. With white wine I prefer cats.
:p :p :p :p
I prefer animals that don't crap inside the house.. but, hey, that's just me... I also don't like things that i'm allergic to... That leaves two major losses for my liking of cats... not to mention, cat's ........ me off, they think their so dominant... bastards... that's why i like dogs... they lay around the house... unless you play with them... if you play with a cat... it hisses and swatts at you... bastards... and last but not least... cats smell and I'm allergic to them.
Cats r MUCH better than dogs. less distracting, more cuddly and likeable and its the kind of pet you can actually let indoors. I dunno why, maybe its a perception thing, but i always get the feeling dogs r way more unhygienic than cats.
Generally cats over 6 months do thier 'things' in a litter box orQuote:

outside (At least that's my experience with all my cats). Being
allergic is too bad, But not a real reason to actually dislike em.
Even though cats are dominant they won't tell you to lay down,
go away or shut up, They just lie about the house or outside,
Somtimes cats are gone for hours without you catching a glimp
of them. And when you play with a cat....hisses? Swatts? My
cat won't mind my playing with him IF he feels like it, If not he
just bails. Cats absolutely DON'T smell, I think they smell like
some kind of soap, Really, They smell nice, Keep themselfs clean
and are hygenic.
But they're void of any personality besides "I'm better than you, but pet me".
Dogs > Cats
Cats may be dominant, But that doesn't mean you'll notice it.
With other cats my cats do behave dominant, But when they see
me, They certainly not act like they're in control and they're the boss.
You're right.... Literally that is.Quote:

That's not quite what I meant. I meant that my cat just doesn't give a crap what anyone's doing (unless they're sitting down, in which case your lap makes her bed). My dog managed to actually look interested in what was going on. I had a point here, but I lost it.
You all have obviously never had a russian blue, or at least not my russian blue ;)
A russian blue is a cat that has a lot of dog-like qualities. Lazy? HAHAHAHAHAH! If I ever see my cat being lazy then hell will have frozen over. She is the most active cat I have ever seen, runs around and plays with stuff all the time. Loyality? You better believe it. When was the last time your cat followed you around from room to room? Well, my cat has been doing that since she was a kitten.
Then there is the cat parts of here. She's clean, smells good, and craps in a box. She won't crap in somebodys garden because she's not let outside. Ever heard of an inside only dog? How about a dog you can let fend for itself if your gone for a week? And listening to it bark? Thank god cats don't bark. Beyond that, russian blues rarely even meow.
I've always prefered cats, but of the two russian blues I've been around are as close to a dat or a cog as you'll get i.m.o.
That's pretty cool, Travis...
My parents had (or rather have) dogs, so I grew up with them around me. For nearly 18 years I suffered the infernal "dogs hair mixed in your dinner" syndrome thanks to them moulting all the *ing time.
But then I moved out, and got 2 cats, which spend most of their time outside. No more animal hair all over the house.... much better. :)
My cats are also maintenence free, I only have to fill their bowl up with food once a day, and they're happy. Dogs have to go for walks and generally be looked after more, which is something I don't have the time for.
So bottom line..... cats rule, dogs drool.
well i definately prefer cats. Hate having my leg humped by large dogs. You cant get rid of them so its just, for gods sake hurry up and get it over with!
Tortoises are the bomb.
> for gods sake hurry up and get it over with!
Whatever - you like it :p
Just neuter them...
Dogs Rule.
do u want to ask dogs & cats, what they think of us?.
in their view we are these 2 legged ,lanky, slow, grouchy
selfcentered, hairless creatures , that smell like crap if they
dont wash themselves daily, that do at times cruel
things to them from neutering them to styling their hair,
to look like bill gates,to making them drunk , and playing sick
jokes on them, and making them do things , they hate to do. you can add to this list as the thread moves.
well......cats are really nasty pets because they like to ........ evrywhere they can so a good cat is a dead cat.
But dogs are better.
i added a little pic too...enjoy.

Hey at least dogs $$$$ outside and not in some box in the house... ::shivers:: cats are dirtbags that make too much smell.

You're both wrong and can't train your pets properly... My dog quit peeing inside when he was a puppy, and my cat never really did that. She took to her litter box just fine.
They can be learned to do it outside at the age of 0.6-1 years.Quote:

Yea, So they do have to do it in the box for the first few months,
That's not half the problem you have with little puppy's.
I have a question for cat owners; how bad are litter box; smell wise? What room do you keep yours in(not the cat! The litterbox)? How bad do(oes) your cat(s) scratch your furniture? Do you have one of those cool thingies that they can climb around in? Do you give em catnip(awesome stuff)?
>> Do you give em catnip(awesome stuff)? <<
how do you know that ? :D
We had a litter box inside a while ago, But amazing enough you
couldn't smell it until you stood almost next to it, Guess those
little stones (Are called?) help prevent the smell.
I'm not an animal person. There drdroid i posted on the thread, life goes on :p
I reserve the right to say stfu... :p
::solves probelm:: Get 1 of each :)

Cats are not damnwell cuddly. My friends cat tried to take out my eyes, stupid Good-For-Nothing dumbass useless MF'ing violent boring creature. But thats my experience.
