SuSe Linux 8.1
I really need some help. I'm trying to install SuSe Linux 8.1 on my 20GB, 128MB, Athlon XP, Hewlitt Packard laptop, but the installation process keeps freezing once it gets to the "Analyzing your system..." screen. We can't seem to get past that because every time we try to install it, it freezes at that point. This is after we enter the user name and password stuff. And when we restart the computer, it freezes at another point saying something like "cleaning drives" or something. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? If you need more info, I can try to provide it. Thanks in advance.

How long did you wait until rebooting?
Linux took a LONG time to install for me.
5 hours just to install, that's after doing all the analying of my computer and selecting the packages to install.

I think I waited a good half an hour. Were you able to move your pointer during the entire installation? When I get to the "Analyzing you system..." screen, it just seems to freeze, because I can't move my pointer at all.
