I'd say linux, just because the BSD core development is forked, whereas the Linux kernel group is pretty unified. The different distributions are almost entirely diverget simply in the packaging of that which is Linux, and the distro kernels differ from the mainling almost entirely by backported patches from the beta tree, except in the case of mandrake where they are trying to breathe life back into the supermount project.
Also, although my experience with BSD is more limited, I've found Linux more likely to support exotic hardware and configurations, if that is important to you.
FreeBSD - I am a Sun adminstrator by day, and it is the closest *NIX variant to the current Solaris distributions (despite having evolved from a different kernel). Linux has a few features that just doesn't operate as you would expect having come from a Sun background.
Thank you; You just cant live without exotic hardware. :rolleyes:Quote:

j/k
Well I use Linux for programming and workstation, I like it... I used most of the distros...
Mdk, Rh, Slack, SuSE, Turbo, gentoo. I like Slack cuz it gives you more permission to configure the linux as you want
I use AIX to, but it's for the server here.
I love BSD too, well, I like their ports :)
I would say, if you want to change from RH, change to Slack or gentoo... or try an BSD :)
I like Windows.
