Right-shift, then right-click the file, make sure you open it with say internet explorer. If possible, choose "open with" and tick the box that causes it to always open with IE, or your image program.
Oh yeah. Suprised I didn't think of that (duh). Ok, now how do I get the old icon for JPEGs back. I never found a way to change filetypes' icons in WIN98.
>>right shift
I think a left shift will also do the job.
in windows XP, when you right click you should have the open with option there...
or you can right click and choose properties and open with...
Alrighty.
I'm on WindowsXP here, so you might have to improvize.
Open up say, my computer.
Find folder options.
Choose the file types tab at the top.
Find what you're looking for.
Click edit/change, etc. and change the icon for it.
A - I always did a right shift. I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not.Quote:

B - That's great, he isn't on WindowsXP otherwise I would've said that. WindowsME is the same way since we're being all factual.
Interesting... the filetype associated with .jpg has the right icon. However, when I right click on a jpg, the type is "JPG image", like a standalone. And the files still have the standars file icon.
have you tried poking around in the registry?
Eek, scary territory. What would I poke at?
screw the registry... I think the icon assocations you're looking for are involved with Internet explorer...
If you use PSP, check the File Associations under File->Preferences.
Alright, now I'll jsut use PSP. Thanks :)
