I had no idea that this book existed. Nonetheless, I don't think I would buy it. It doesn't look like a bad book though.
Brand new book. Wow. LaMothe's name is on the cover so it's probably got some useful stuff in there. I haven't browsed it yet but my guess is there is a ton of 'intro to' stuff and other fluff that you don't care about in there and very little meat to it. You'd probably be better off just using the tutorials available online and reading through the API documentation on the SDL site.

k, thats the definition, but how does it work? and what does it do? though!
It's an API, like Allegro or whathaveyou.
I like it.
It works on most any operating system too.
Handles networking, sound, input, 2D, and makes OpenGL easier to work with.
