Prelude - Programming with attitude:
@ Face Master, you have a folder To Burn. I had the same thing a month ago. I was upgrading to XP, so I made a folder of everything I wanted to burn.
Here's mine, changed the background, mods would probably have deleted my post if i kept my old one :D
mine:
Ooooh yeah. I'll get one of my Mandrake desktop next time i'm on there.
fred this may be a dumb question, but what o/s is that??

This is probably mine..
Ride or Die, It's Linux with fluxbox as the window manager.
must....get.....linux
thnx
Here is mine. KDE 3 on Red Hat 8.0.
Ok, explain how the IMG thing works again-please. It NEVER seems to work for me!
Muttering.....
My desktop may be boring, but hey you may be interested.
just go down to attachments and attach the image file.
silentstrike, you're using GAIM in kde? I don't understand this aspect of linux, are all programs useable in all GUIs? I've been using Gnome and got KDevelop to work but I needed to add some components from KDE. Very confusing for a linux newbie.
Dual Monitors on my GF4TI4600 !! Wahoo(had to cut quality because file was huge)
As long as you have the GNOME libs installed, you can run GNOME apps (gaim being the one I use most frequently). If you have the KDE libs, you can run KDE apps. Your current window manager / desktop enviroment doesn't matter (although it does ensure you have correctly configured and installed libraries for the one you are running).
If you choose to install both enviroments from the start (bloat cries the hardcore linux user, oh well :) ), it saves a lot of frustration, especially if you are new.
Thanks ROD.Appreciate it.
Man, why do i STILL have trouble doing this?
Oh, I meant to say it wouldnt work was it was too big a file!
Reduced two settings in resolution did it! Why is my writing so big? lol :p
how bout a pic of ur desks(this pic is old)
Where'd you guys get your wallpapers from? There's some that I really like (esp Inept Pig, Imperito, and biosninja)

Wow...I didn't think anyone had more icons than me....I just deleted a bunch icons and sorted stuff into folders...How can you find anything, I had massive problems whenever one thing shifted and it was all mixed up. At least get rid of the AOL junk heh.
I don't know why ppl get dizzy when they see my Notebook Desktop - the organization is very simple - everything new and currently being used is to the right.....

No fancy polished switches and dials.
Just good ole plain blue.
What's with the number "22" on your desktop? (all the lines adds up)
mine:
plain ol blue....that sucks. and what is with the number 22. i would understand 666, or 69, or other funny numbers, but 22?
as for the latest one, thats a nice pic of mars (i think)
Maes's desktop makes me think, is there a way to get icons to line up horizontally by default instead of vertically?
I installed XP today so this is my new desktop!!
XP IS EVIL!

PLEASE.
This is mine, a picture from halloween of the kids project I run.
Sorry but if you think amd sucks then you suck. How can a processor clocked 700mhz slower than a p42.8ghz outperform it? I think you need to wake up and smell the roses and stop being an intel fanboy, just because its faster doesnt mean its better. And how can you like a company that wants to embed software into future processors that will make you unable to make a copy of any copyrighted material? I for one sure cant. And give me a mac any day over a pc for doing digital editing.
@ crag2804, Ok which one are you?
Maybe this one?:D
Nope, I'm the tall one at the back with my face painted ( I had to set an example to the lads who didn't want their faces doing at first, male pride ). The other guy is harry.
nothing impressive really, that is a picture of my father doing a drug bust
@crag2804, When was this pic taken?
Shadow12345, if thats your dad.........post a pic of you!!!:D
HOW Can most of you NOT have any icons on your Desktop????
*this is my home PC other was Notebook*
How can we not??? Ok, here's the deal. It looks like a mess!!!! But on the other hand, you say that you have a system going there. Tell me, how many of them do you actually use? I would put all the shortcuts to games in a games folder on the desktop, a folder for all the install files and so forth....
Bios-
That picture was taken on the 30oct this year. We had the kids on the night before halloween.

Oh, ok.:)
>HOW Can most of you NOT have any icons on your Desktop????
I don't know about everyone else, but I fake looking organized by creating a file on the desktop called STUFF and shoving everything but what I access regularly in that. ;)
-Prelude
I like a nice blank ( icon free ) workspace on my desktop, looks efficient. The fact that I can't find anything hidden in the depths of my hard drive I ignore though.
here's my linux one. my windows desktop is much more boring. i have a dilbert comic as wallpaper, but these things clutter the picture.
the box with the sniper expert there is live tv from my tv tuner. everything else should be self-explanitory.
//edit: aparently the interview wasn't live... saw that big ole' "Recording" text... :D
Yeesh ygfperson. You run that much in one workspace all the time, or were you just "posing" your applications for the shot?
I've got 8 workspaces set up as I don't like more than 3 apps in the screen at a time.
>I don't know about everyone else, but I fake looking organized by creating a file on the desktop called STUFF and shoving everything but what I access regularly in that.
then what's the point in telling us? Hmmm?? Yeah that's what i thought ms "I have a yellow bird thing on my desktop"....humph
