Where Do I Go From Here?
I have been learning C for about two months now, and have read Programming C for Dummies Vol.1 & 2, and also a few other books on programming my own graphic functions. I have created my first graphical game that was done with Borland 3.1, and it turned out pretty good. Now im at a dead end. I know how to program in C fairly well, and know how to program my own graphics functions, but I have only programmed in Mode 13h so far. Where to now? What would be the next step in learning? My goal is to program high quality games that are actually fun to play, but I don't know much about C Graphics, other than mode 13h. So, if anyone has any suggestions on what my next learning step would be I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Hope to here a few remarks soon so I can be on my way.

I personally would continue to refine my knowledge of C and hold off on doing graphics work until I was comfortable with pretty much all of the language features. In your case, you can do this or you can continue to make games, start simple and make each new game more complex. Trust me when I say that game development is one of the harder aspects of programming and with only two months of C experience, you've only scratched the surface. But I envy you this time when just about everything is a learning experience. :)

It is probably a good idea to stick with learning the C language more in-depth before learning graphics. I just don't want to waste my time learning things that won't build on future planes. Right now I am programming with my own graphic functions, and enjoy doing this, but I feel I am wasting my time because they are dos based functions on Borland C 3.1 in real mode. Do you think this kind of experience is a wast of time, and what would be the best thing to learn right now that I can use say to program windows applications and games? Would learning a graphics package of some type benefit me for later projects? Thanks!
