I have recently got a new computer with Windows XP. My old one was Windows 98. The problem i have is that a lot of my software that I installed on my old one doesn't install on XP. How can I get round this problem? i.e. would I be able to network them together and copy the software that way.

Most likely not.
Could the reason the old software not instaling be that it requires "pure dos"?
Have you tried turning compatibility mode to Win 98 on the install .exe?

I updated to XP a few months ago from ME, which my stupid dad updated to from 98. I hated ME, I liked 98 better. But anyway, all my software works fine. I haven't had to reinstall anything, it all worked after the update, although some didn't work as well. The only problem I've had is with the CD burning software. I had to get a pirated version of Nero so I can burn my CD's again :p
umm... he said he got a new computer... your experience has nothing to do with his problem...
What programs are you trying to install and what errors are you getting/what is happening when you try to run them?
I have tried installing lots of diffrent programs some work others dont. Some are even by the same company.
The problem I recieve is that they start installing and then stop responding. I deleted them off my old one and then re-installed them again no problem, so I know the disc is alright. They just don't install on xp
well start naming software off and maybe others will have it and know whats up.
