Hey Im just wondering what is the average age in here and how long have you been coding with C++.
Might want to try posting this topic over in the lounge area.

16 yr old and 4 days compiling.
I'd say the average age here is like 20, but the median age probably closer to 17, with the average coding experience at 2 years.
I'm goin' 21 this August. I've only been involved with C++ for 3 months, but I had a 2-year background in C. :D
im 14 :) been programming in C++ for about 6 months now
been programin fo about a mounth
it used to be higher... but recently there's been an influx of young'uns... i'd say it's around 17-18 right now... used to be closer to 20 or higher.
48 (and not hours either, dammit!)
HEHE Im 15 just turned last week and todays my third day
the big 28 and climbing
the last year of my teenage years, 19
we should make this post a sticky so that no other person ever asks the ages of the people again.
or we could just make an option for it in the profile and compute it that way.
or better yet, just use the birthdays of the people here to figure the ages out.
and btw, i'm 17.5 :D
Average age = 22.452021
That's just a guess though.
19 and about 1 year C and 3 months C++ experience.
14years/4 years
Should that be taken 14 years of C and 4 years of C++ programming experience?
Dam you started C++ when you wur ten? :D
"Should that be taken 14 years of C and 4 years of C++ programming experience?"
Im 14 years old, and have 4 years of C++ experience. Some of that first year was a mix of QBasic and C++ though.
I don't think that the "average" is a good representation, with all the "old men" who type with their walking sticks... :D I think I'm about the middle though, 18.
Well, I didn't know there are many younglings here already capable of programming. :) You teenagers better make sure you don't grow up to become nerds. You should learn to balance technical prowess with socializing abilities... just like me! Hehehe! :D
Ya, u are rite about teens not being able to program......i don't think teens now really want to learn how to program, we leave programming to the nerds..........we just play what ever u ppl make up(nerds)...........
Original age=13 years
programmed for=0 years and 0 days.
hoping to start at the age of= (donno, not interested in programming....i just download and play the games u guys make up.............nice onces though.....)
HOW EVER I DO KNOW A BIT OF HTML
If you assume that I'm somewhere between 0 and 100, my average age is 50.
Ask a stupid question :)
howdy,
i 42 and will be 43 in August.
my guess the average age here is about 20.
and what's wrong with typing with a walking stick?:mad:
itld wacks monitor with oak cane.
M.R.
25, 2.5 yrs. C and at most 8 months of C++
>>we leave programming to the nerds..........we just play what ever u ppl make up(nerds)...........
Well I can proficiently program in C/C++ but I'm not a nerd. :) In fact, I've got a date with the basketball team's cheerleader (but I'm not a basketball player) after I get out of the internet cafe. Later, I'll be going to the mall with another girl and watch a movie . We're gonna do something nasty hehehe... and we will finish what we will do at my house. :D :D :D
howdy,
billholm holy s**t your killing me here,
but i must ask why take girl 2 home when the cheerleader has to be in better physical condition :p .
M.R.
>>but i must ask why take girl 2 home when the cheerleader has to be in better physical condition
Actually, that cheerleader is not really my typical girl stereotype. I had her last week and her arms look muscular (LOL) hahaha!!! (Oh my goodness my mouth was dried)
Girl 2 (Jen) has much more sex appeal -- beautiful face, tender body, slim figure. :) Thinkin' bout it makes me all too... h*%^y.
PS. What I had posted were true. I didn't make them up. :)
howdy,
billholm
U R DA MAN ;) :cool: :p
M.R.
Hehehe :D
You know, I've been trying to avoid them for sometime. But somehow they managed to know that this internet cafe has been my hideout :D. There's some kind of feeling that... how do I explain it... having a hot mumbo jumbo with someone feels extremely good, but after I have done it many times with her I avoid her because the more we do it, the more she craves for commitment. :) I had a girlfiend once, but after that, I decided to enjoy my manhood without commitment before I'll have a new girlfriend.
I don't know if someone here knows that feeling but I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world hehehe :D
howdy,
there's that damn "C" word again.Quote:

try it you might just likeit.

I'm 17 years old and I started with C++ about half a year ago.
im 16.7 and im coding 2 month
When I wrote my first program, a text adventure, I had to record it on to an audio tape recorder on a PC my father borrowed from work on weekends. (not kidding)
Took a long break to see the how and where the rest of you live.
Can't reach the number keys with my zimmer frame.
>>there's that damn "C" word again.
try it you might just likeit.
Like it? I already tried once and I love it! :) It gives me some kinda nirvana. Even now I fondly recall those days... :)
But I, accompanied by the spirit of programming, always search new problems. So I decided to pollute my karma a little hehehe! :D
i'm 8 1/2
You're only 8? I think 8-yr-olds don't even know what File Allocation Tables are (LOL) hahaha!!! :D
>You're only 8?
i'm 8 1/2
heh i'm 16 programming in c close to 1 year and before i programmed in turing (who ever knows this must have gone to the u of t a long time ago ;) ) for 1 year before c.
I'm 17. I love hexadecimal, it makes me feel so much younger. :p
-Prelude
C'mon, don't want to be misleading, shouldn't that be 0x17?
>>I'm 17. I love hexadecimal, it makes me feel so much younger.
Feeling old at 23? (I believe 0x17 is 23 anyhow...) ;)
I'm 20. The only time I feel old is when I've forgotten why I'm in the room I just walked into. :D
and i just stated my c++ lessons :eek:
Taking the Average age won't be a very good idea...b/c of the vast variation...i.e. if 5 are 18 and 1 is 43 the avg. age becomes about 23 which is not a very good est.
You should try finding the MEDIAN of all the given ages.
Hey are there any girls here? :) I've known only a few beautiful girls interested in programming.
I'm 13 and been programming for about a year
45. Programming 20+ of them, C++ probably 6-7 I guess.
>>> Hey are there any girls here?
Yes there are, (not me by the way!), but some don't advertise the fact because when they do, every hormone hyped 14 year old tries to go cyber with them.
im 21yrs old.......started programming at age of 8yrs old(gw basic>>qbasic>>visual basic,fortran,pascal)
juat 1 year in c, 6 months c++(using visual c++)
by the way, I dont think its really matter how old is anyone, its only matter how long ve u been in the field.
for myself I may take a 14 yrs old boy(with experience in c++ 4yrs) as a teacher as long as he knows much more than me.....and nothing bad about this.
but older people r better they ve general logical control thinking more than much younger :)
It seems to me that there are only a few girls in here, myself being one of them. I don't know why so few girls are into programming. There were only 3 girls in my class of 25 this year.Quote:

NinetyFourGirl, are you sure you're a girl? :) You're lucky we are under the veil of secrecy in the Internet, so I can't see you. Cuz if you're a girl, you would be one of my idols. :D
Girls are particulary meticulous when it comes to details, so most of them become proficient programmers. Most of my programming tutors are girls. They're cool! :cool:
i can't remember whether i posted in this thread already or not... so here goes...
I'm 22... been programming for about 4 years in C, VB, and various web languages
