read. Jeez, I've never even seen Video Game Sex.

There's already a rating system on games; just
like movies.

Oh, before anybody praises this bill, remember --
it is not illegal for a child to walk into an R-Rated
movie. The theater won't be fined by the Government
for allowing the kid to watch the film. This bill
is censorship, no matter how you look at it.

Oh, and if any of you are parents who support
this bill, keep in mind -- if your kid can't buy
the game he/she wants, and if you have no problem
with them playing it, you're going to have to
drive all the way down to the mall in order to
buy it for them. Do you really want to do that?

Also, I'm 20 so it won't affect me. Still angers

it wouldn't be too bad. You'd just need to show your ID before buying a game, just like you do for porn; besides, kids will always be able to get it from corrupted adults like me.

as a game creator...i take offense to the idea of banning things soley on their influence on weak minds....unless of course the program is geared to push hate, or racism...or filthy sexual habits like pedophelia. seriously. my games are vile! if you don't like it...tough. & another thing, that new sony game...grand theft auto is the most brilliant creation i have ever seen in my life.

We banned GTA3 game in Aust because you could hire a hooker, then the game cut to a car under a tree rocking.
They banned it because you could then bash the hooker and get your money back.
The whole point of the game was to bash and steal.

Bashing police, medics or civillians is OK, just not hookers.

Actually a kid can't just walk into an R rated movie. A friend of mine who was sixteen at the time had a movie ticket taken away(and not refunded), which his mom had bought. The problem with this law is that to buy a game the parents will most likely know the kid has it when they bring the game in while the kid could still play the game at a friends house or and arcade. One thing is is that most people allowed to drive are also allowed to play violent vidio games.

I can't think of the game's name right now but I saw an ad in Game Developer mag that showed a game where you are in charge of a modern street gang, like Crypts, etc..

It's really up to the theater. I saw plenty of
R-rated movies in the theater before I turned
17. Brainscan, No Escape, Demon Knight, Wes
Craven's New Nightmare, Jerky Boys, Time Cop,
Terminator 2... These are the ones I remember
seeing. I'm sure there have been more. Ah, and I
live in Utah -- the most conservative state in

Oh, we also have the country's first Kentucky

really when I went to a pg-13 movie they asked if i was under 12 (which i wasn't)

me and my friends go to the theatre before the movie we want to see even starts to get people in the threatre, buy a G rated ticket, and just walk into the R rated movie that we intended to see. No problem! We just wait for everyone to leave before we exit the theatre...

It may not be ethical, but its the policy of the US which has become the country that caters to everyone no matter how rare they are.
