The Spiderman thread
just got back from one hour detours due to may day, but I saw Spiderman, and OMFG!
The suspension of disbelief is incredible in the movie. For a while, I forgot that I was even watching a live action flick. It felt so much like watching a comic book. And yes, it did live up to it's hype. Go see this movie, you won't regret it.

I would have gone today -- NO TICKETS
tomorrow -- Volunteer
sunday -- don't know yet....
[goog to know that they didn't screw up the movie even though it had really high expectations!!:D
-
Does he do whatever a spider can? Does he spin a web, any size, that catches thieves, just like flies?
-
I've seen the trailer with him running along the sides of buildings and stuff, it looks soooooo cool - cant wait!!
-
i am going tomorrow to see the movie. The trailer itself was soo cool that i cant immagine what the movie will be like...
Some of my friends say that the movie is going to be boring and stupid [like harry potter with its great hype and expectations]
but i am going to watch it 4 sure. Ifthey dont wanna c it, that;s too bad 4 them... those suckers!
-
Have you seen the original trailer with a helecopter caught between the twin towers?
-
it hasn't been released over here. I think it'll be out this friday. I'm gonna see it in that case. :)
-
I saw it on sunday and thought it was amazing looking but, I think they focused a little too much on the love story part between him and Mary Jane, and had little action of him actually being spiderman.
-
speaking of love stories, am i just unromantic or something ??
but why is it that movie makers try to get a love story into a lot of films ??
must be to get the chicks in !!
-
Yeah the hype is so much that i have changed my mind to go and see the movie when it releases here. more 100 mil in a week WOW.
-
>>Have you seen the original trailer with a helecopter caught between the twin towers?
Yes. The one where you really dont see it coming. Theres all the 'bad guys' running around doing stuff and then they all pile in a hellicopter and they're gettin away, and suddenly ... *streeeeeeetch*
>>why is it that movie makers try to get a love story into a lot of films ??
No idea. Some movies just lose out from it. Anyone watch Gladiator? Damn good flick. I read that the producers tried to get Crowe to get it on with the Ceasars sister in that dungeon bit where she comes to visit him. Apparently he absolutly refused to do it because he said it would have been out of character (he was avenging his dead wife after all). Glad to know somebodies sticking up for themselves.
-
ive watched Gladiator 4 times, great movie. mind you i love Roman stuff.
didn't know about that scene you mentioned, but Russell Crowe was absolutely correct if that's true. how ridiculous, he wouldn't have forgot his dead wifey so quick.
i was interested in Titanic, cos its an interesting story till i read the reviews and found out it was just a long bloody love story...yuck. i only saw it 3 weeks ago on BBC TV, and it was yuck, so yuck.......
just make soppy love stories (chick flicks) for the chicks to have a weepie over, then make decent films for us guys. wish they wouldn't try to mix the two and ruin it.....

I'm probably going to see Spider-man tonight at
10:30...
Hey, how come Spider-man is the only super-hero
that has one of these ('-') in his name? Look,
Batman, not Bat-man.
Superman, not Super-man.
Spider-man, not Spiderman.
It's trippy.
Titanic is the best love-story movie. It's not
even debatable. Deal with it!

>>>Titanic is the best love-story movie. It's not

:) least it was promoted as a love story. what i don't get is where they shoe-horn a love story into an otherwise decent film.
anyway, try getting married, that'll cure you of your romantic notions ! :)
-
>>>>why is it that movie makers try to get a love story into a lot of films ??
To make it appeal to both sexes.
Lucas was quite clear that he was trying to include a 'forbidden' love story in StarWars2 to try and attract more teenage girls to the movie. (he already has boys)
-
The love story in spiderman was fine because it intertwined with the villian's actions. Besides, it's not like Pearl Harbor (****ing terrible) where there was a "gratuitous love" story.
-
"You jump, I jump. Remember Jack?"
Remember that part in Titanic? I almost cried.
Jeez, I really love that movie.
-
i saw the movie tonight, it wass pretty good, William Defoe[sic?] was brilliant, Sam Rami[again sic?] did an excellent job, and suprisingly Toby, did quite well.
BTW: wasnt the original ending fight to take place on the twin towers?(yeah, i know why they changed it)
