#cprogramming
Cprogramming needs an IRC channel! It would be a great addition to the whole dealy... people could get help on problems much like the BBS, and we could have fun just talking amongst ourselves.
Who thinks this is a good idea? (If there already is an IRC channel, someone please shoot me)
-
I am in irc.openprojects.net fairly often. They already have a #c and #c++, however.
-
some guy always hosts #cprogramming on DALnet...you cant get rid of him.
-
Hmm, that channel does exist..
Oh well, just use a different channel name, like #cprog or #cprogrammingcom or something
(IMO *)This is an awesome idea!
-
This was attempted a while back and it bombed, I registered #cprogramming.com on DALnet, but nobody bothered to show up. I think it was unregistered due to lack of traffic.

Well, since then, has cprogramming grown any?
-
Not really, hasn't grown too much.
It probably failed because noone knew about it...
And IMHO this sin't a very good idea. I mean, it couldn't hurt, but it's so much harder to answer questions in a chat. And that's really the sole purpose here..

>but it's so much harder to answer questions in a chat.
It's harder to debug code in a chat, but answering questions is just as easy. It's also faster than discussion forums because you can get an answer in real-time.
I believe a programming chat room is a great idea, if people go there often enough for it to be practical.

Well, I registered #cprogramming.com on DALnet, if an admin on this website would like to set it up and maintain it, PM me for the password...
I'm willing to set it up if no one else wants to, I cankeep a bot in there at all times and such
