My labmate here has tried to sign up (myblock is his account name), but he can't do ANYTHING until he gets the account activation in his email. He can't even PM a MOD to have this email sent. He's tried emailing the webmaster, but there has been no response.
It's been 24 hours and this activation email hasn't sent. How can this be?
Well, I hate to ask the obvious questions, but has your labmate checked his spam folder?

Well, then "how can this be?" can be a very difficult question to answer. Webmaster is not always quick to respond to inquiries and I'm not entirely certain that mods can re-forward an activation email to a user, though I think they can force the activation to occur from their end. Regardless, I'd say this thread is a sensible way to get the issue seen and your friend's account activated. How it happened might not be a readily available answer, though, unless someone is aware of a recent update that occurred with the forum.
Okay, so I'll just wait to hear from a mod. I didn't want to put it in the C forum, so I figured it was fair game for "general discussion".

The forum has recently been experiencing some database/connectivity problems.
The owner has seemingly fixed some of them, but the account may have simply fallen through the cracks.
One way or the other, the owner was able to take the time to fix some errors so the forum is being managed it may just take longer than usual due to such issues.
Until you here from a moderator, have you tried the "recover password form"?
