last night i fell asleep at the computer and banged my head on the keyboard . . . lol
when i was programming and the mob came and packed me up in a full body sized chello-case and dropped me into the East River. That was quite an injury.
I cut off the very tip of my left index finger builder a computer desk for my wife (does that count?). Freaking table saw just wanted the wood more than I did I guess.
Well, I dereferenced a NULL pointer one time...that kind of hurt. But if you mean physical then it woud have to be paper cuts. Ouchie! :(

Once I ran to my comp cause my internet was about to get disconnected in 4 secs.......(I was downloading somethinng for the last 2 1/2 hrs)..........but there was a door in between me and the door.........that stupid doorknob hit my wrist so hard that I had a bruise there for 4-5 weeks.......
uhh.... one of those screen-sweeper things fell off my monitor and onto my hand. while programming.
computers in general:
i was taking apart an old tandy 1000 ex, which tried to squeeze everything together tight. i touched the power supply coil trying to pick it up.
because i was too poor to afford a case, i put all my computer stuff on a table (actually, it was the old case, lay'd horizontally, close to the floor so i would kick it every so often.) i tried to switch a jumper and touched a few capasitors together with my screwdriver. didn't damage my motherboard (much).
i've sliced my hand on circuit boards. not badly, though.
by the way....I did not get to my computer....and I had to download it all over again...............
I read this thread...
I hurt my foot kicking it.
I leant back on my chair to look at my code at a distance (I dunno why  ) and I thought there was another chair behind me to hold onto, but there wasn't...CRACK!
I kicked my desk and my huge 21" monitor [with boiling cup of coffee atop] fell on my lap.
I was soldering a PCB, and knocked the soldering iron off the desk. Caught it without thinking. 10 years ago & you can still see the scar!
(I know it's not programming, but it still bl**dy hurt!).
yeah hardware sucks.
especially the back of various cards [motherboards, graphics cards]
you put your hand in and the little metal solder bumps rip the skin off it.
IBS from sitting hunched over....
piles from not going to the lavvie........
Beer belly from sitting still 16h a day. Damaged right hand index finger from mouse clicking to much.
You people scare me... Those arent injuries. Is this supposed to be funny? I dont get it... *huh?*
oh yeah, i forgot the repetitive strain injury in my right hand !!
i think its due to mouse clicking, can't think of any other reason.
oh well. poor you.Quote:

I know this isn't a programming injury, but it's still funny.
This guy (he posted this on a gaming board) lost really bad and he hit the table, that his computer was on, with his fist, it was a glass table.
RSI and carpel tunnel in both wrists. Owchie!
However I was compensated after that with a very nice MS Natural Keyboard Pro. So I'm happy! :D
Not forgetting stress and brain-strain. :p
Sore left hand, sore right index finger. think this one through.....:D
This is not so much an injury caused by the computer as exemplified by it, but when I was picking up a table, the leaf fell out and fell ab out 3 feet and landed on my left great toe. OUCH
It got funky colors, the nail came off, but I had a blood boil under the nail before that. So it hurt to have my foot below my knee. This led to some interesting finegaling of the positions of my legs while I was using it.
It never occured to me that a hiatus was in order.
can't you operate your mouse with your left hand like most guys do......??????:DQuote:

Does "left hand surfing" counts? That's computer related, j/k......I am right handed BTW........I don' t know I think the biggest thing has got to be my eyes. Not really just programming, but more computers in general.
I use my right hand for my mouse index for left button middle for wheel and that other one [cant remember its name in between little and middle] for right buttonQuote:

I use all my fingers for typing [i use my little finger on my left hand for shift and tabs and control and backslash and on my right hand for shift and enter and the arrow keys] i use my thumbs for pressing space [mainly my left hand thumb but i often find myself doing space with my right hand thumb]. I use the numbers above the letter keys for doing numbers [my laptops numpad is awkward and i have got used to using the top row of numbers its kinda slow but what are you gonna do]
according to typingtest.com's little test I have a typing speed of 109 WPM which I think is a load of crap.
once my computer said it was giving me a virus and re-formatting my disk(a sick joke) in a windows-error type message(blue background). Since my power button works only to turn on the computer(this is my old one, mind you), I was forced to pull the plug because the power surge was too far away or somthing. I got elertricuted and sort of conked out. When i woke up my hair was in every direction(True story!).
your computer plays jokes on you?Quote:

Oh yeah. That's always fun. It's quite an experience getting an electric shock (not necessarily pleasant but certainally interesting). I plugged my machine in after it's migration from my room to my study and I was touching the pins (yes, I know.. D'uh)...and well... *BZZZ*.Quote:

I certainally travelled a little way backwards and was a little dazed. I was described after as resembling a flaming cabbage with my hair the way it was.
its that one screensaver from linux, where it shows pretend error messages for every operating system, but it was ported to windows. I dont know why I thought it was real...it was the first time I had the screensaver enabled when i left and came back into the room.Quote:

I prefer the matrix screensaver. Or the sliding tiles one, or the penguin in the rocket.Quote:

I like all the lame cube ones.
ive cut off my curculation by resting my arm across the back of the chair
what a kawikidink so am i right now
My left hand is strangley acustomed to one postion that makes the figers to loose around the mouse but tighter around larger objects.... :eek:Quote:

the sexual inuendo.. my god, you sicko!
hehe
Caffine addiction.
Luckily it means I don't sit still long enough for one of the trains to catch me.
Try adjusting the focus on a camera built into a box into a railway track, while holding a monitor with an a 5m extension cord and the target to focus on. Only to have a 2.5km long train come round the corner 100m away.
Whats going on? Keeps logging me off? That bit about trains was me.
Commander: LOL :).
I never get the injury beacuse of the computer. It's always reverse. The computer gets the injury from me . Especially that stupid keyboard, lol.
I've done that! Ah! I missed the plastic handle when catching it! Its a new definition of pain...Quote:

I inhaled those cans of duster and I passed out and I hit my face against my computer desk when i woke up i was all bloody.
from programmign specifically i developed carpal tunnel in my left wrist
one time I got so mad I squeezed the mouse so hard it crushed. It just happened to be a old mouse with the mouse ball in it, and the ball went flying and hit my right eye. Ouch! Okay, I just made that up, but I can just imagine it happening. That would be hilarous. But I almost crushed my new optical mouse when I was making collision detection and it kept screwing up. Instead of cussing out the monitor, or hitting it / kicking the box, I like to squeeze the mouse really hard until it makes a cracking noise.
Electric shocks ARE VERY VERY FUN! I got this manual switch for my lamp because I broke it a few years ago, and I took it apart one day for the heck of it. There are two screws in there that make the circuit complete and incomplete, depending on if you want it on or off, and I touched both screws.
Frenchfry, I assume from your name you are from the States, so that would have been around 110V. Wouldn't suggest you try it on 240V (although it's current that kills - the voltage being higher makes the current higher).
EHT off a CRT can make your day *ahem* interesting.
i always scratch my hand (near the elbow) on the sharp edge of my computer desk's keyboard deck! I put some tape on the corner, but it is still very sharp...
One major injury was when I wrote a program, compiled it and got 128 errors. I looked at my code trying to find the error for about 2 hours (about 2000 lines of code). And finally! I left out a semicolon at the end of my class declaration.:D
A thread BUMPED me...
Anyways - while programming a opto brick, I reached behind it without looking to plug it in... The plug had a few exposed wires... Zap.
