NO, I will NOT go back to DJGPP and have someone tell me to go back to Borland or something. I wanna start some graphics but don't have a clue where to start. No DirectX No OpenGL

Use Open GL.

graphics :p
try direct x
I repeat!
No DirectX No OpenGL
don't ask me why
No directx, no opengl?
Then assembly is probably the answer to your question. I'd say pick up a generic book on graphics (like anything on computer graphics) and start implementing the stuff with assembly.
It kind of sounds like you want to reinvent the wheel and I just don't get it.
Good Luck.
Do u ppl kno of an easy lib?
I've heard the SDL is pretty easy to learn, but I've not tried it myself (the Windows version is a wrapper for GDI and DirectDraw functions).
Isn't SDL for MSVC and MinGW?
I don't know but if you have a look at their FAQ it looks as if people have had sucess with other compilers.
if not GL????!?!?!?!!?!?!? and i respect the no DX hheheh who would use that anyway...
then try the GDI.
I tried and OpenGL example in my compiler (look in my signature). It doesn't work. Can someone give me an example?
what about it doesn't work?
compiler errors?
runtime errors?
anyways GDI,assembly, and BGI are about all thats left then...
I guess i can start OpenGL but it won't work. It gave me a compiler error.
well what was the error?
just because...
DJGPP/Allegro... practice alot with different stuff too... figure out what's right for you...
I still can't do graphix in programming. It is very pestering but I found a way around it. If I wuz you I'd slow down and get a tutor or a teacher or something. I resorted to programming hacks...then i found my true talent is not in sketching on paper but making graphix to put in programs...Even though I'm young I don't know your age but as a teen looking into a graphix career looks good. Do you have any luck in other areas besides graphix in your programs...say as assembly integration to splint or fish even Ips...when you get into breaking down forbidden code in commen programs and because its untraceable use there code as refrences...well anyhow good luck
I'm younger then you (most likely).
What state do u live in? Southeast US, that's me!!! :P
