Bank Status letter
Hi All,
Just a have quick question. Has anyone here had requested any sort of bank status letter in the past. What I understand is that, when i request for status letter of my bank, the bank would ask details of the third part (in my university) who requires the status letter.
I wonder what sort of information would the university request in the status letters. I just wanted to know if anymore here has had a experience of producing a status letters from bank prioir to getting an admission?
Would it be good idea to have good balance in my account before requesting for a status letter?
Thanks all

I believe it a letter provided by your bank as to validation on your current financial situation. And that what I think. I've had one before, but apparently you can request for one for a charge from your bank. I'm in the process of getting my admission for my post-graduation and the university has requested for Bank status letter. And I just wanted to find out would it be good idea to have good balance before asking for one.

I've never been in a situation where a university ask for a status letter from a bank. I have, however, had a situation where the bank requested a letter from my employer that would state my average earning over some period of time, usually 3 or 6 months. This was when I was taking out a loan.
You should inquire with your bank. Find out what information they'll put on the letter. If they're going to put your current balance on it, which I very much doubt, it would make you look better if it was at least not negative. :)

Are you applying for any kind of grants or loans? Typically financial status will factor into those things.
Beyond that, I don't know anything about how it works out there in the UK. Perhaps you should discuss it with the registrar over a cup of tea or something?
