Advice for newbies?

Hey, guys, I'm new to C++ programming and some people recommended learning BASIC first and then learning C++ will be easier. Is this true?

Just a friendly advice: Skip BASIC and directly learn C++
Trust me, personal experience. BASIC will only teach you things that are mostly useless with C++.
