Senior Software Engineer - Web

We’re currently looking for an outstanding senior software engineer with web development experience to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to tackle large tasks like improving recommendation quality and performance while effectively balancing the management of smaller tasks like adding new features to the system and console UI.
What you’ll be doing:
- Implementing new features and algorithms into our core recommendation service
- Designing and developing new features for our user-facing consoles
- Improving performance and scalability of the recommendation service
What we’re looking for from candidates (must-haves):
- 8+ years PHP and C design and development experience
- 5+ years of MySQL application development experience
- 5+ years of HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience, including experience with libraries like prototype.js
- MySQL query, index, schema and implementation optimization experience
- Belief in a user-centric approach when building applications
- Ability to take high-level requirements and produce a refined product
- Extreme proficiency within the LAMP environment
Other things we’d like to see from candidates (nice-to-haves):
- Experience with PHP application frameworks
- Large-scale data analysis experience
- Math or statistics background
- Experience with Memcached or other distributed caching systems
- Start-up background
