But I've never seen it so I wouldn't know if thats it.
Not exactly ishir. Certain online games use it too. It is referred to as 13345P33|<, or leetspeak. Infantry Online and Ultima Online are the two main games where this can be found, although it is prevalent in certain halflife circles as well. Occasionally it can be annoying in extremes, but usually it is fairly readable.
