State Machine Controller

Hi all,

I'm interested to know if anyone has used one of these to manage a state pattern in a system?

I'm in the process of drawing up a state diagram, which is probably going to contain a hierachy of about 6 states. Would it be worth using a SMC in this case?

There are a few available to d/l, does it matter which you choose or do they all do the exact same thing?
