My cat's name + random gibberish.
SWGH
Is a quote combined from Red Dwarf.
Cat, fequently spoke to Rimmer with the phrase: "Say What Goalpost Head"? Hence where I got mine from :p
Well if you take my name and scramble it, you'd get something like "irate hulks jolt", so clearly I needed something better.
P.S: Love Red Dwarf by the way
You get money ("bucks") for brewing beer?Quote:
I'm a brewer (of beer), thus "brewbuck" -- I don't really have an explanation for the "buck" part.
Mine's an orientation of my surname.
Daved was formed from "Devil's advocate" when I added a second username to another forum so I could argue the opposing side of a discussion when the others arguing that side were doing it really poorly.
Mine is from way back, when I was playing counter strike. Everyone wanted a really cool name all the time, so I started calling me h3ro as a joke when I was playing. H3ro was the worst name I could come up with, but for some reason I got stuck with it.
If "Daved" stands for "Devil's advocate" it should be "Devad"
>> If "Daved" stands for "Devil's advocate" it should be "Devad"
Yeah, but I didn't want it to be obvious that's what was happening.
Given to me back in, I believe, 2001 by a clan in Star Wars Jedi Knight 2. Everyone in the clan had an equally lame name regarding how unstoppable of a force they were. "Sly" was relating to my personal character and "Maelstrom" was relating to how awesome I was. They picked "Sly," I picked "Maelstrom" because I liked the word ever since I had heard it in the song Chimera by Bad Religion.
A few years later I found that someone else was also using the name and is apparently really into porn (as if to say that I'm not). I spoke with him once two years back and to my dismay, he makes me look like a fool when it comes to programming... so not only am I not the only "SlyMaelstrom" on the internet... I'm not even the best programmer with the name "SlyMaelstrom" on the internet.
Shouldn't be replying here since my screen name is obviously my real name. But it is indeed a mystery even to me why I chose it.
Even since the BBS days, my screename was always either marfig or Krugar. The first is obvious, Krugar was my first D&D character when I was introduced to this pen & paper RPG. This is the only place I wasn't either.
>> Although there are plans developing for a microbrewery.
Same here, actually. Though more of a micro-distillery...
Not at all... I think it's a good dream to own a microbrewery if you're into that. Personally, I hated the few microbrews that I've tried, but then I don't really like beer that much in any case... I personally like the Dell of beers: Amstel Light... or is that the Everex of beers?
I perosonally dream of building and selling creatively designed, unique computer cases... but that's just me.
It's the name the chief scientist gave me when I was first switched on.
bachler, its old german, it means from down by the stream
Duh mine. I'm going to change it to be just another obscure entity like the rest of you. I'll come back reincarnated as some obscure fictional character from literature. Or maybe a relational operator. Or perhaps with some latin phrase that sounds smart. And 22 posts away from 1000 too.
I worked with a guy back in '84 whose logon ID was socrates. He was about 4 1/2' tall, thick glasses, receding hairline for the young man he was, and a stereotypical attitude to go along with his height. A while went by and I got to know him better. Then, he did something really stupid one day. I asked him if his choice of logon id name was really warranted. He looked at me in dismay for about 5 seconds and walked off. He changed it shortly thereafter.
No need, just PM webmaster or kermi3 about a name change.
That's fine and all, but I need to know; what's the stereotypical attitude of someone 4 1/2' tall?
Mine comes from:

I may have lost that tallest status by now, but I'm certainly still very thin - if anyone knows a diet to gain weight please share it with me...Quote:

So my next attempt will be: eat healthy like I usually do, but exercise alot, this way I might gain some weight by producing muscle mass....
Sorry for bothering you all with my weight complexes :p.
As for the lamb part, at that time I was as innocent as a lamb, that might have changed as well by now.
I suffer from a similar condition Gangly (although I'm average height). On my case it's because my body isn't efficient enough gathering nutrients/whatever from what I eat. It was diagnosed when I was 8 since at that time I was actually dangerously thin. Maybe you may want to look into that with your doctor.
As I grew up, I acquired a more satisfactory height:weight ratio. It's still low compared to an average thin person, but nothing like when I was a child. On my case it just happened naturally with no specific diet. However, if it matters, I tend to gain weight when I combine exercise with an healthy diet (ironic, isn't it?).
Well, since everyone is discussing their usernames...
This one is just a name I've found on the web. A fantasy name, I believe. According to the site where I got it from and long since forgotten, it's supposed to mean "blissful beauty."
Well, in any case, I liked the name so I picked it.
The green thing that runs around and eats things.
Nice to see you're still around, Yoshi.
Mine is just my first & second name combined along with a 7... I don't know why.
Yes people hate names with numbers in them, but it's a username -- eventually they'll have to use numbers. Was going to change it but, cbf + any new sites I register on 'zacs7' is never taken :)
Suits him well then :)
I will stick with "manav" :D
manav is HINDI word which means Human in ENGLISH
edit: by the way there is mike_g clone on the board, mike__g
did anyone notice?
I needed a name for a character I was starting in EverQuest, it was an Iksar, which is a lizardman. I had just finished reading a book, The Last Dragonlord I believe was the name, the main character was a human that could shapeshift into a dragon and his name was Linden Rathan, Linden being his human name and Rathan being his dragon name. So I was going to reverse it and use it, but Rathan was already a taken first name, so I modified it a couple times until it went through, the fact that it starts with Wraith is purely accidental. My full gaming name now a days is Wraithan Lindane, so if you see that name, or just Wraithan you can assume it is me, not many/anyone else uses it, though there are some variations I have ran into over the years (been using it for ~8 years now) I am the one true Wraithan.
I thought you were some dude from Stargate Atlantis ... Oh well :(
Just search for the last such thread.
i am from four dots planet hence my user name contains a picture of my planet.

Naked Ballerina is just the name of a recent series of paintings I did. People started tacking it to me. In reality I am neither naked nor a ballerina.
Dale L
Mine's my dog's Kennel Club affix and I think it's a province in South Africa... I would check but, weird, neither google nor wikipedia are working for me.
P4R4N01D is a reference to gaming when very likely there is someone out to get you, I first used in in Starcraft, and now I use it for everything. Incase you haven't noticed, I enjoy writing things in 1337, it looks better. Without watching the Surreal vid, I wouldn't have noticed how using Clawfinger's "They're out to get me" as a soundtrack worked so well with CS (and RTSs as well).
>> I enjoy writing things in 1337, it looks better.
Does it really?
> Does it really?
y3r dn uno? 1 h4s ro3p.
ro3p???
>> I enjoy writing things in 1337, it looks better
I can only guess that you're joking as I can't see any spelling errors or punctuation errors in your post... which means your name is ironic. I like you. You'll go far.
I sent a PM to Kermi3 on 5/15 requesting a new user name. How long should this take?
>> I sent a PM to Kermi3 on 5/15 requesting a new user name. How long should this take?
Did you get a reply? kermi might not have the ability to make that change, so he likely passed it on to webmaster, and who knows if/when webmaster will get around to it.
If it happens it happens, but if it hasn't happened by now who knows if it will at all.
Actually Elysia really means Struck by lightning.
So yeah, I guess it's quite descriptive.
Actually, I recall discussing this a while back. It should have happened by now. Perhaps it was forgotten along the way. Apologies and I will pass this matter along as Mods don't have the ability to change usernames directly.Quote:

And as far as usernames go, when I signed up here way back in who-the-hell-knows, I was spending phenominal amounts of time programming. The light through my window of the sun coming up was frequently an indication that it was time to call the coding session to and end and hit the sack. Hence the light at dawn was my personal sign of intense and in depth programming.
Thanks. It hasn't happened yet, and that's OK, because in the PM I sent to Kermi, I chose a new username, but I've since decided against that one ("Entity"). Now I want to be "Dino"
>> Well just freakin' great, the username changed universally and now I have no clue who you are.
See posts #51 and #52.
Why he calls himself a dinosaur programer?
New web dictionary:
Yarin - struck by the frying pan
Elysia - struck by lightning
( :: ) - four dots planet. Planet for girls only. :: in Braille means G. G for girls. :D
I'm not toying with you guys. That's really what Elysia means. Look here!
Yarin means to understand. Look it up.
Oh, well, you should have mentioned that the first time.
That site also says that Yarin will sing a song....
Look, here is my name as the correct meaning: http://www.babynameshq.com/name/Yarin;
According to http://www.behindthename.com/name/yaron, Yarin doesn't exist, and "Yaron" means to sing.
Ah, so yeah she was right: http://www.behindthename.com/name/elysia
Sorry about that. :D
http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/ stinks.
