Vote for your favourite programming language!! :)
please tell me you did not just type "Fote" intentially.
Arrgghh!! Mistakes everywhere :) .. I'll edit that :)
Better now ?? :)
I like C++, but not keen on C.
Java is a really nice language, but hate the GUI it creates. Also not keen on running everything in a VM.
Delphi is smashing! But not enough people use to make worthwhile (i.e. finding a job etc.).
Lol.. :) Nobody votes anything but C++ ... I guess because the forum is all about C/C++ :)
ehh... i voted Basic cuz that's what I'm stuck with for the moment... maybe when I get to another project... we'll see.
Lol :) sure :)
You're right. Duh, it is a cprogramming board. Try to do a poll in some other boards and let us know what you come up with :)
Ok :) I'll try :)
English, with some hungarian:p
C++ if I had only one choice, but C# first and C++ as backup if I had more than one.
You should have chosen Other
I doubt you will get a representative answer to such a question on a C/C++ message board. Ask the same on a Delphi board, you'll get a different answer.
The "best" language is the one that is best suited to the problem you are currently trying to solve. The actual language is often that dictated to you by the company(ies) you are working with in the current contract. The two are rarely the same.
Yea.. I know that :) but at least I have a vote for Basic :)
looks like I'm a loner on this one, huh?
C++, then c# as a backup
BTW, what the heck is foxpro? I know ms makes a compiler for it and that's about it.
it's a DB language... FoxPro is a DB type software.
Python :).
Honestly, it's not my favorite yet, but perhaps it will become it. I only have 3 weeks experience with Python, vs 3 years of C++, but Python is definetely cool.
i guess...Quote:

Ill vote for C++. I did some java, so I have a little knowledge in objects and classes.
C++ for now but C# is really growing on me.
C++....suprisingly!!! But I am messing equally with MASM at the moment......and I still find myself doing windows scripting in JScript fairly regularly.....
But that's now and it doesnt represent the past or the future ....probably....
Object Oriented C++
Hey, is C# totally different from C++? :confused:
C# = Java + AddSomeOtherCrap(Microsoft);
:D
So.. What did you choose? :)
I LOVE C:p
>Hey, is C# totally different from C++?
C# is a different language, but it's object oriented with similar keywords, so knowledge in OOP and C++ will be of great use.
I like C/C++.
Is Python a scripting language? I might also want to try that.
I would like to try LISP if I could just find some good books on it. I heard that there was an emacs LISP. At any rate the language is used a lot in AI research.
Python is usually lumped in with languages like Perl.
:D lol :D
C/C++. Java sucks ass (well okay, not all of it is bad but I loathe Swing).
Yes, Python would have been my choice too. I often try to write the working code with Python before making the faster and ugly version with C/C++.
Python interpreter is a really good for testing purposes. It allowes you to test the code before writing it and it means that you can write the program once without debugging it at all. Python is very beatiful too: it looks like a pseudo code.
Lol :) whatever ...
what is so freakin funny? If you're just posting to raise your post count, knock it off... I'll report you to the mods and they'll make your count stuck at 2. :mad:Quote:

This is an interesting article about GTK, QT, and PyQT.

grrrr, C and C++ are not the same thing
Is there a very big difference?
I also voted for BASIC. :cool:
C/C++ are pretty versatile, I believe, while still hard to use, but BASIC will still be a classic! (resounding boo from the crowd)
I used BASIC before ... and I liked it ... but it's too easy :)
i used basic, then delphi, and now c++ :) so i vote for that...

Better hope Salem, quzah, or Prelude doesnt chance upon that...Quote:
