That's tight.
Makes ya think..
Yer, how much power does the world use?
Amazing to think that even in the desert there are many lights...
Thats amazing
That's breath taking but loose teh one liners ;)
It's realy nice.
Did you notice where the lights were very few ot even not existing, for example in Africa, Australia, north Canada, etc...
And where it's very intensive, Western Europe, USA, ...
-Japan is covered with lights.
-There is light along the Nile, in Egypt, it's strange I don't know why.
-Some countries in Africa, have no lights appearing.
It's realy amazing.
wow i can see my house from here and i left the lights on oh crap but that is a cool picture i have always liked that pic.
Haha, Norway and Sweden sorta look like a giant lit-up penis!
What a great practical joke that would make:
"Okay, everyone turn on your lights... NOW!"
Those aliens must be so confused :p
Oh man I live in NWest UK-looks like soild light...
No wonder the stars get harder to see.
Also, apart from the Sun, guess which object in the solar system is the brightest in the radio spectrum?
does the world really need that many lights, considering its day in part of the world?
That looks very cool. The reason there are so many lights around the Nile is because thats where all the buildings are, you dont build your cities AWAY from the main water source :P
Oh, and SentientToaster, thats MY Avatar!

Curious... it looks as if the entire world is at dusk. It also doesn't seem like the picture was taken all at one time (read: earth = round, picture = flat, square)
I wonder how that was taken...
Isn't that like...a one liner telling people not to one line?Quote:

irony.
>I wonder how that was taken...
it's a conspiracy! the government is trying to convince us that we're using too much light, and should stop.. this is because they want all the energy for themselves.. they need to to power their giant evil robot slaves.
The end is near... You have been warned.
uh.. anyway.. neat picture.
Not all the world is in darkness at the same time. I guess they left a camera exposed as a satellite was orbiting the earth capturing every part of the earth whilst it was in darkness. Something like that anyhow.
Why, it's not like civilization doesn't exists at all in the desert. I live in Phoenix (well, technically a suburb of Phoenix...), and we are like the 6th biggest city in the US. So it's not that suprising at all to see lights in the desert.:)Quote:

But anyways, that picture is really cool.
RE: the one-liners: I think that this gives even more proof that GD posts shouldn't go towards your post count. I know of several boards that don't count GD towards your post count, but then usually there is more spam in the other boards. I guess it's sort of a toss up.:)
All those sorry ass Communist/former Commi countries have no lights - especially look at NORTH KOREA compared to SOUTH.
Hes a mod, he can get away with it. HeheQuote:

I made sure to put extra decorations on just so I could point it out on that photo!
Sorry guys, but I lit up my house so bright that it's lighting up the rest of the world. Pretty neat huh!
>> I wonder how that was taken...
I assumed that it was pieced together from several pictures...
pretty cool
>I assumed that it was pieced together from several pictures...
A large number of pictures taken at different locations & over a period of time.
I live near Fountain in NW-UK and........cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
Yes, otherwise it could have been used to prove that the earth is flat and that every location experiences night at the same time.Quote:
