I just use MS Paint for most of it, and occasionally I use Adobe Photoshop for some special editing.
I've used ms paint but everything i make doesn't look very....... clean(jagged and stuff). I mean logos like the cprogramming one.
If by jagged you mean pixelized, you'll want to antialias the picture. Just search download.com for something that can do that for you.
what do I search for antialias?
Ah yes I forgot about GIMP - just get GIMP.

Photoshopped by someone else for me.

Anime Girls had many various opacity adjustment airbrush work done to the girl in that photo to give various spots of her head like her ribbons, her bangs, and the center of her eyes a little extra shine.

^ Example website layouts with logos that were photoshopped.
You get the idea.
Govtcheez, you are hilarious. :D
I use Macromedia Fireworks. Admittedly not free or cheap at all, but I use it for everything even though I have Photoshop. Examples include my avatar, my old avatar (currently found at this link), and the attachment to this post (originally for a web page).
I like GIMP. I generally suck at making any sort of art on a computer, though, but GIMP is quite a nice program.
How do I put this delicately. That logo is ugly as hell.Quote:

what do you mean? it's very 1978 - maybe that's what he was going for. ;)
It's ugly for 1978
Well, I truly stink at art. My point was, even though that's ugly, without Fireworks I'd have some thing like Govtcheez's avatar (no offense). I stink at design but am okay at making the image with Fireworks. Point: If someone sketched a good logo I might be able to make it look okay on the computer.

What are you trying to say.
Fine. I'll put it this way. I'd have something that would not shame a kindergardener with fingerpaint, and btw, I love your avatar (I was just saying that your artistic skills are, um... not exactly as good as Picasso).Quote:

Looks like all those fine art collectors you sold to are gonna be showing up on your doorstep pretty soon Govtcheez. :p
I barely make any logos at all anymore. I used to slap some stuff together with copy+paste in Paint, although photoshop would prolly be better.
I got my copy of Photoshop Elements for around 20.00 USD on eBay and my friend has a version with all the bells and whistles that is much better, but Photoshop is more of that, a photo shop. I don't like the logos I've made with it. Also, I've seen some pretty amazing stuff done with MS Paint. Also, I think there are some freeware image editors in the massive freeware thread (whatever it's called).
Is your amazing MS Paint stuff as amazing as your other logo? Because that was pretty amazing.
It's pretty damn funny you think that MS Paint is better than Photoshop on any level, but hey, I guess that's up to you.
I'm pretty weird, so my opinions don't count for much.
