How to make your Thread HOT

Hi

I am back with a new bug

It is so simple to make your post popular in this board.

well what you have to do is

Code:

a. Post a thread
b. Click your own therad and click stop before it opens it
c. Then the link for your thread  will be selected
d. Now move your mouse pointer over stop button
e. Now you have to just hit enter and click stop again and again.

---

After a 150 hit your thread will become HOT
So next time think before opening a hot thread that why this thread is viewed so many times?


I am telling this to all because may be my post make this board owner to make a patch for this bug. :p

It's not a bug. It's a feature. That is how it is supposed to work. How is the server supposed to tell between 150 people clicking a thread and 1 idiot doing it, other than logging the IP, which would be straight up stupid.

at least it should not count the clicking of the member who have posted it

Does anyone really select their threads entirely based on whether or not it has a large number of views?

I usually pic the ones withthe least..since that person may still need more help :)

Then again, you could pick the ones with the most, because if they use this "trick" then they definitely need help.

i never look at number of views..

i usualyl just look at every thread, always
in the mood learn something new.

but i suppose if something was to turn me on or off
to a thread it would be the topic name.

Well, as a matter of fact, I absolutely refuse to view a thread before it has been viewed at least 199 times. That way I can be sure that it is void of a virus. Furthermore, I have always prided myself on the fact that I insist on waiting to create a new thread until it has at least 45 views to back it up so I can be sure that people will really read it once it's posted. There are times when I'm being facetious, but am unsure if my statements are interpreted in such a manner by my audience. In those instances I tend to include a "[sarcasm][/sarcasm]" block or "just kidding" type remark. Apparently, I mistakenly thought my sarcasm would easily be detected with my statement (I'm paraphrasing), "I don't create a new thread until it has lots of views." Perhaps in the future I should take every possible measure to insure my attempts at humor (via sarcasm) are prominently declared as such, however, in this case I thought my time-travelling comment was exactly that declaration.

Oh, and if it too isn't clear, I amn't actually fearful of contracting a virus by viewing threads on this message board. That was merely part of my ill-received (at least by axon) jest.

who the f**k checks thread based on views? Sometimes in the programming boards I help based on posts, but never views.
