Greetings,

Or.You could build it yourself-like me:)
I prefer a no brand custom-built PC because I feel I can get better prices for the same parts.
What does cost to rebuild one know days. I have a whole sale supply up the street thatI purchased a new NIC from for about $20.00. But the case, MB, CD ROM, memory(how cheap can you get it per stick?) I chose to build myself too.Quote:

Right now i'm using an axis systems computer (soyo motherboard, amd processor, that's about all you need to know). It was a good deal for what it is, so i didn't feel like building my own, the company went belly up so it's no wonder it was cheap. Right now i'm rebuilding my old win95 pentium 133....
Only ever used home built ( bought a system made by a friend first then built my own from then on ), you can't really beat the flexibility of choice.
I've never bought a system from a manufacturer, I've built them myself my entire life; that way I know what's in em' :)
No goin' through the window for us!

Yeh same. Custom built PCs are the best.

Lets see I started seeing computers that met my specs 6 months after I built mine, and 2 months after that they were around the same price as I paid for mine. I know that some of the parts could have been gotten much cheaper.
www.buyxtremegear.com
I ordered most of my parts from there... you can get an idea of prices from the site (go to the Complete Systems page)
the best thing about customs are that they are fit for what you plan to do. if you plan to use large masses of space on your cpu,. you wont get a small 9 gig hard drive. things like dells and so forth fit a person who just uses their computer for running ms word or something
Damn BMJ, I said to myself what a cool site that was. Then I had a feeling of deja vu and I went here, a site I sometimes frequent:
http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/home.htm
Turns out they're the same company.

I agree. When i got my dell, which my parents customized(ugg can u even call it that :P) it was weak slow and "affordable".
That lasted about three days i went to www.pcwarehouse.com and orderd a 20gig HDD, soundblaster live 128, 512mb ram, and avoodoo 5.
Well, mine is a Gateway, or at least it started out life that way. I've either replaced or added things so that the motherboard and CPU are about the only original parts.
*sigh* I still have my Voodoo5, I believe it still works too! I loved that thing... I didn't care what people said, you had to own one to know how awesome it was!
...but now that I have a Radeon 9700, I'm tempted to throw this POS out the window. (from the 53rd floor! mua ha ha!)
