Win2k Explorer crashes

whenever i open the windows explorer, it crashes and gives me memory address errors. lately even the IE explorer crashes on me sometimes. is anyone else experiencing these problems ?
when i use PowerDesk (3rd party windows explorer lookalike) everything is ok.
