Newbie file reading question

Hi I'm trying to make a simple program to read a text file.

PLEASE NOTE that I'm using Linux... thanks :D

Here is what I want my program to do:

- Read a filename from the command line argument
- open up the file and read the contents line by line
- Display the file name in STDOUT

How would I use a makefile to build this program?

Do you know what you're saying? You don't need a makefile. You need code for the program. Compiling it should be a trivial matter, not even worth having a makefile for.
