How many disks?

I got a hold of a copy of VS.NET and I wonder how many disks a complete set should have. I recived 4 disks + a windows update disk. Is this the correct amount? I would like to know before I mess up my computer with a failed installation.

Do you mean floppy disks or CDs (compact disks) ?

If you mean floppies, as the word "disk" generally implies...you're into some trouble...as 4 floppies mean (about 1.44 * 4 =) 5.8 MB...It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a Microsoft product this small in size.

Well when talking about VS.NET fitting on 5 disks I think 'disk' implies Compact disks.

i think the term "disk" makes you think of floppy disks...

Ops I think I mixed up swedish spelling with english there. It sems like there is 2 different releases. one that is 7 discs and one that is 4+1 discs. I will give it a go when I get home and if it works the drinks are on me and if not I will cry.

Should be okay, my install version had 4 cds ( + component update ) and worked like a charm.

i know its not the post...but yep, disc to me USED to mean floppy--i guess it means HDD now....


anyhow cd has never been known as 'A' disc.....oh im sorry this is not helping your original post....

I have c++.net and it has 4 cd's. Three c++ cd's and an update cd. I'm not sure about the whole set though.

I think the spelling implies what we are talking about because when we say "disk" we normally refer to floppy disks' not hard disk because we normally refer to these as "hard drives". Who knows it's not worth having a debate over.

No I didn't purchase it :rolleyes: And I don't plan on using .NET. I want VS.NET for it's awesome IDE and because it handles STL alot better then VS6 did.
